Logistics Coordinator at Universal Careers

JOB SUMMARY      

Duties and Responsibilities:

All PO Documentation and Processing:

• Reviewing and cross checking details of purchase orders from various departments and making amendment (if the need arises.)
• Sending purchase orders to Admin for approval and continuous follow up with Admin to ensure timely approval.
• Opening of Form M with Banks and getting approved Form M from the Bank. Scan the approved Form M to vendor Admin
• Checking of the Customs H.S code from Customs tariff book for every product to be imported to the country. The officer must be knowledgeable with Custom tariff book
• Processing of PAAR with various local banks upon receiving necessary shipping documents from vendor
• Processing the Custom duty payment after receiving PAAR
• Handing over the draft duty and related shipping payment to the clearing agent to facilitate clearing of the consignment.
• Follow up with the clearing agent to ensure consignments are cleared on time to avoid demurrage and same are delivered into the warehouse.
• Prepared necessary amendment letter required by various local bank-i.e ( if there is any discrepancy  on the shipping document.
• Follow-up with the clearing agent to ensure exchange control documents are received on time and same submitted to banks
• Follow up with the clearing agent to ensure refundable deposits from the shipping company are received  back to the company
• Follow-up with banks and inspection agent for SONCAP product certificate

Transportation/Haulage:

• This entails physical distribution by land
• Arrange and make adequate provision for all haulage related issues and general supervision of all consigned goods until they are finally delivered to their various destinations
• Air freight clearance
• Air freight clearing – these entails a total clearing process,
• Supervision,
•  Monitoring
• And putting clearance agents to which jobs are assigned on their toes to ensure timely delivery

Sea freight clearance:

Sea shipment clearing - these entails a total clearing process

Supervision

• Monitoring, putting the agents to which jobs are assigned on their toes to ensure timely delivery.
• Track and monitor imports and export operation from the country of origin down to the port of discharge and down to the company’s warehouses at various Locations

Logistics/Operation Reporting:

• Report the general operations and activities to the Finance Manager on weekly basis
• Supervise and coordinate all logistics department duties.

Relationships:

Internal:  All Department/Units

External:  Vendors, Haulage Agents, Clearing Agents, Banks

Skills and Competencies :

• Computer Literate
• Must be a confident Microsoft Excel User

Requirements
 Educational Qualification :

•  B.sc, HND, (Professional qualification)
•  Relevant Experience:  5 Years
