    Construction Safety Officer

    OVERVIEW OF ROLE

    All personnel are expected to contribute to creating a positive HSEQ culture and ensure familiarity with and adherence to local HSEQ codes and practices.

    All personnel are also expected to contribute to creating a culture of ethics and integrity and ensure familiarity with and adherence to our Code of Conduct.

    Specific Key Responsibilities & Activities

    • Ensure and promote the use of the Company safety and environment rules (in particular COMPANY Golden Rules) and specifications throughout the construction works.
    • Ensures that contractors and Vendors are geared to comply at all times with safety rules and promote the use of COMPANY Golden rules at Contractor and Subcontractor level.
    • Ensure that HSE is given the highest priority.
    • Promotes HSEQ awareness of workforce at all levels through pro-active attitude (site tour management, HSEQ meetings, incentives actions,…) within Project team and Contractors
    • Monitor work activities, especially potential areas where unsafe acts could occur, and ensure that risks have been properly identified and assessed prior to work execution (Job Safety Analysis).
    • Demonstrate a Personal Commitment to Health, Safety and the Environment by:
      • Leading by example through the demonstration of Safety Critical Behaviors;
      • Compliance with COMPANY Health, Safety & Environmental Regulations;
      • Compliance with COMPANY Corporate Health, Safety & Environment Policy, Plans, Processes and Procedures;
      • Fulfilling the HSE Training & Competence Requirements for this position.
      • Interface with project management on HSE issues
    • Mentor/Develop personnel in the workplace on all HSE matters

    PERSON SPECIFICATION

    • Additional qualifications from a professional body are desirable.
    • Affiliation/member with nationally recognized professional body; if applicable
    • Degree/Qualification in related course or other equivalent experience, plus minimum of 5years relevant working experience in Oil & Gas (Construction, Engineering, Offshore sectors etc.) or relevant sectors
    • Pro-active and positive  to changes and challenges
    • Pro-active and open in communication with all interfacing parties.
    • Demonstrate a good level of initiative
    • Team oriented and performance driven
    • Upholds core values and reputation both internally and externally: Safety, Integrity, Innovation, Performance and Collaboration.
