    Maintenance Supervisor

    Key tasks and Responsibilities

    • Assists to manage and control the Maintenance Department
    • Organize, control and perform mechanical maintenance activities
    • Supervise operation of relevant utility systems
    • Organize, control and perform condition monitoring and troubleshooting of mechanical equipment for process, marine and utility systems
    • Organize, control and perform Engine Room Watch keeping duties
    • Perform planning and control accomplishment of mechanical maintenance activities as per Computerised Maintenance Management System
    • Liaise with other departments for coordination of maintenance activities
    • Administer mechanical modifications requests under management of change procedure
    • In charge of collecting, storing and disposing of operational waste for the maintenance department
    • Supervise housekeeping of machinery spaces. Ensure cleanliness is maintained
    • Supervise use and maintenance of workshop equipment, including tools and instruments
    • Supervise bunkering operations
    • Participate in pre-commissioning and commissioning
    • Assist in preparation of budget and control expenditure
    • Ensure sufficient stock of mechanical spare parts and consumables. Assists in spare parts/ consumables stock review
    • Ensure the Permit to Work system is controlled and adhered to as per requirements of the system
    • Use the Computerized Maintenance Management System. Review information in database to ensure it is technically valid, accurate and up to date
    • Prepare and administer required reports. Maintain appropriate documentation
    • Ensure that vendors and contractors are managed safely and effectively
    • Ensure that vendors and contractors mechanical equipment is fit for purpose and have valid certificates
    • Undertake training relevant to the position requirements
    • On-the-job-training of subordinates and trainees
    • Assist in competency assessment and performance evaluation of subordinates
    • Member of Emergency Response Team 

    Qualification requirements

    Education

    • Higher diploma / Degree in relevant Engineering discipline; UK or South African 2nd Engineer (III/2) CoC required

    Experience

    • Employer requires 7 years experience in maintenance of process, marine and utility equipment in process plant, power plant, offshore facilities or marine vessels

    Skills

    • Good inter-personal and communications skills
    • Good management and supervisory skills
    • Good computer skills and knowledge of Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS)
