IT Infrastructure Architect at Tezza Business Solutions Ltd

A high-impact IT Infrastructure Architect function can accelerate progress against critical IT objectives that require a cross-enterprise perspective. The mission (duties and responsibilities) of Tezza’s IT Infrastructure Architect is to

• Provide guidance and leadership by reviewing and critiquing architectural designs within their span of control
• Continually build upon existing technical competencies to provide technical leadership to the organization
• Ensure high availability, recovery, performance, monitoring and operations design is incorporated across all covered products
• Work with other policy and standards owners to develop plans/roadmaps for future technologies and directions
• Understand, define and establish an architectural approach to meet privacy and confidentiality requirements, which include:
  • Define any and all requirements that could influence hosting decisions based on data privacy or confidentiality
  • Define requirements that could lead to a distributed data solution
• Responsible for server hardware, OS storage and build specifications - including load balancing and clustering including:
  • Define hardware sizing to meet application requirements and associated capacity requirements
  • Design load balancing and clustering requirements/solutions as per architecture standards
• Execute and implement defined standards and best practices as agreed through the Enterprise IT Architecture process, which includes application, infrastructure, data and security requirement

Required Skills (Minimum knowledge, skills and abilities to enter the job):

• Able to design enterprise infrastructure architecture to provide best value and performance for customers for different work loads.
• Able to specify appropriate storage architecture, compute architecture, communications architecture.
• Fully knowledgeable about onsite, private hybrid and different cloud environments.
• Knowledgeable and able to specify and present software defined data center and software defined network architectures.
• Fully able to design architecture for different workloads - OLTP, DWH, BigData.
• Fully knowledgeable of the economics involved in IT infrastructure and how best to optimize value.
• Able to evaluate customer infrastructure and make recommendations to improve performance or reduce operating costs.
• Desire work out of Lagos – Nigeria and eventual travel in central Africa
• Stay on top of new and emerging platforms and technologies with a focus on how to apply this knowledge to client engagements and to expand service offerings.
• At least 5 years’ experience in Lead Strategy/Design/Implementation of IT Infrastructure
• Extensive and substantial practical experience as well as applied knowledge of general infrastructure components and techniques. Must be more than capable of providing professional advice and guidance to other technical and business professionals. The following technologies or disciplines are, but not limited to:
  • System sizing and configurations
  • Server Load balancing
  • Clustering/HA
  • Storage
  • Virtualization
  • Performance management
  • Troubleshooting
• Superior oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills. Strong presentation and facilitation skills to communicate with and persuade a wide range of audiences
