Responsibilities
ï‚· Reviewing current systems
ï‚· Presenting ideas for system improvements, including cost proposals
ï‚· Working closely with analysts, designers and staff
ï‚· Producing detailed specifications and writing the program codes
ï‚· Testing the product in controlled, real situations before going live
ï‚· Preparation of training manuals for users
ï‚· Maintaining the systems once they are up and running
ï‚· Interpret software design specifications and OOD models for application modules and
translate them into Java source code
ï‚· Develop and unit test application modules and web pages
ï‚· Integrate application modules with other modules and external systems

Required Skills
ï‚· Knowledge of programming skills is a prerequisite.
ï‚· Have minimum of 2 years development experience with Java and JEE (including JSP and
ï‚· Servlets)
ï‚· Experience with a test first methodology
ï‚· Experience with XML
ï‚· Experience interfacing with relational databases using ODBC
ï‚· Familiarity with OOD patterns and UML methodology
ï‚· Experience with JEE application servers (Tomcat/JBoss etc)
ï‚· Experience applying the above technologies to the development of webbased applications
ï‚· Detail oriented individual with solid verbal and written communication skills
ï‚· Experience with Web Services, Spring and Hibernate
ï‚· Knowledge of programming skills in web-based programs, as well as traditional programs
like Java and Visual Basic.
ï‚· Keeping databases up to date;
ï‚· Helping with database design and development;
ï‚· Managing database access;
ï‚· Designing maintenance procedures and putting them into operation;
ï‚· Ensuring that databases meet user requirements;
ï‚· Managing database security/integrity and backup procedures;
ï‚· Implementing security measures;
ï‚· Defining objectives through consultation with staff at all levels;
ï‚· Writing reports, documentation and operating manuals;

Testing and modifying databases to ensure that they operate reliably;
ï‚· Archiving data.
ï‚· Maintaining archived data
ï‚· Installing and upgrading the database server and application tools
ï‚· Allocating system storage and planning future storage requirements for the database
system
ï‚· Modifying the database structure, as necessary, from information given by application
developers
ï‚· Ensuring compliance with database vendor license agreement
ï‚· Monitoring and optimizing the performance of the database
ï‚· Contacting database vendor for technical support
ï‚· Generating various reports by querying from database as per need

Qualifications and requirements
ï‚· BSc. Or equivalents (Any numeric Science course) i.e Mathematics, Computer Science,
Statistics etc.
ï‚· Expertise in current computer hardware and software
ï‚· Ability to use one or more development language (C++, PHP, HTML, etc.)
ï‚· Strong communication skills
ï‚· Ability to work in a team
ï‚· Eye for detail and identifying problems
ï‚· An understanding of business
ï‚· Analytical and commercial experience
ï‚· Database administration
ï‚· Basic Networking
ï‚· Thoroughness and accuracy; Good analytical skills,
ï‚· Good Communication, Negotiation and Interpersonal and Customer Service skills.
ï‚· An experience in an EMV environment in Application development such as Script for
Personalisation and data preparation
