SPMT Operator at Prime Services

Description

• Assemble, disassemble ,set and configure (mechanically and electronically),operate the SPMT in any configuration & cargo type/weight
• Efficiently & safely conduct of loading & offloading. This includes lifting, installing, rigging, & weighing of large heavy loads.
• Operate the SPMT on public roads/areas, private yards, on ground, on floating vessel & during load out/load in operations.
• Report to the frontline rigging supervisor & follows instruction accordingly.
• Gives prompt feedback on convoy status.
• Perform all jobs in compliance to applicable safety rules.
• Check & maintain the efficiency of the SPMT, execute regular maintenance and fault troubleshooting.
• Responsible for daily & weekly control and maintenance of SPMT.
• Participate in pre-job and safety meetings.

Requirements

• The ability to plan, organize and work efficiently under pressure
• Clear understanding of the relevant equipment and its use
• Drive, load / offload, mobilise and operation of trailers, installation, rigging and general maintenance.
• Guide / train other team members where necessary.
• Liaise on a daily basis with the operations manager and / or line manager.
• To ensure that all work is carried out in accordance with legal, company and client regulations.
• Should you feel that safety is being compromised it is your duty to report it to a member of the management team
• To use and maintain all required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), reporting any defects to your supervisor
• To complete and hand in the drivers’ handbook as required.
