Job Responsibilities

• Installation, configuration, upgrade, and migration of the DBMS
• Developing,implementing and periodically testing a backup and recovery plan for the Jbase or RDBMS
• Storage and capacity planning: Planning how much disk storage will be required and monitoring available disk space.
• Watching data growth trends and promptly advising IT management on capacity utilization.
• Responsible for monitoring the database server on a regular basis to identify bottlenecks (parts of the system that are slowing down processing) and remedy them.
• Troubleshooting when things do go wrong with the Jbase or RDBMS database server.
• Data Extraction, Transformation, and Loading (ETL) activities
• Implement and enforce security for the T24 database.

Qualification & Experiences

• A Bachelor's degree in ICT or related field from a recognized university. Possession of additional IT certification or a Masters in computer science, MBA will be an added advantage
• A minimum of 3 years experience in a T24 Database or development environment.
• Must have completed NYSC.

Key Performance:

• Sound communication skills with management, development teams, vendors, systems administrators and other related service providers.
• Ability to perform both JBASE and also operating system performance.

Required Knowledge:

• A good knowledge of the Unix operating system(s).
• A good knowledge of T24 physical database design.
• Excellent knowledge of T24 or RDBMS backup and recovery scenarios.
• Experience and knowledge in migrating code, database changes, data.
• Menus through the various stages of the development life cycle.
• A sound knowledge of both database and program code performance tuning.
• A sound understanding of the business.
