    Supply Chain Specialist

    xios seek to recruit Supply Chain Specialist that will be located in Abuja, FCT and Supply Chain officers in Kaduna, Kano/Jigawa and Borno/Yobe, for an upcoming DFID funded 7 years health project. All positions are subject to approval and funding.

     2. Supply Chain Specialist

    The Supply Chain Specialist will report to the project Director and will provide leadership and overall direction to the Supply Chain Officers in the project states (Borno, Jigawa, Kaduna, Kano & Yobe). The Supply Chain Specialist shall work collaboratively with the States Ministries of Health, State LMCU, LGA LMCUs, Consultants and 3PLs. The Supply Chain Specialist shall provide technical support and oversight to all the State Supply Chain Officers to ensure effective and efficient delivery of the Project objectives.

    Duties and Responsibilities

    • Work incollaboration with the Project Lead to ensure the timely implementation and delivery of project objectives as specified in the project’s Logic Framework.
    • Directly supervises the activities of the State Supply Chain Officers in the implementation of the project in accordance with the Logic Framework.
    • Monitoring and reporting all project KPIs, as well as providing timely recommendations for review and approval in case of modification or change to action plan.
    • Provide technical Support to all partners for the overall implementation of the project outputs.
    • Provide management support for all the Public Private Partnership PPPs and 3PLs within the program implementation.
    • Continuously monitor and support the training Faculties to ensure their functionality as envisaged by the project.
    • Provide technical support for the Strengthening of the PPP and last mile distribution model for the State Drug Management Unit or Agency.
    • Monitor and manage budget implementation for the project in consultation with Axios Director of Finance and Administration.
    • Coordinate the support and participation of the State Supply Chain Officers in work planning activities in the State.
    • Collate and provide all required reports in a timely manner for monitoring performance and implementation of the project.

    Educational Background and Experience

    • Bachelor’s Degree in Pharmacy, Supply Chain, or other relevant areas.
    • Master’s degree in Public Health, Epidemiology, Operations Management, or other relevant areas required.
    • Relevant professional qualification or membership is an advantage.
    • Minimum of 10 years of experience in logistics and supply chain management for health commodities, preferably in Nigeria.
    • Knowledge and experience in Procurement, Warehousing, Distribution and Quality Management Systems is required.
    • Knowledge and experience in Basic Health Program, Reproductive health, Family planning, and other health programs.
    • Experience in capacity building and training of logistics and health facility staff.
    • Experience working in Northern Nigeria.
    • Demonstrated ability to work with government staff at multiple levels in including the state, health facility and community levels.

    Special Skills and Knowledge

    • In-depth understanding of the Nigerian public health sector especially in the areas of HIV/AIDS, family planning, maternal and child health, malaria, tuberculosis, etc.
    • Advanced knowledge of drug logistics and supply chain management techniques.
    • Good project management skills.
    • Good knowledge of data analysis and evaluation.
    • Excellent writing, communication and presentation skills.
    • Ability to work with international organizations, government officials, non-governmental organizations and the private sector.
    • Strong computer skills.
    • Fluency in oral and written English.
    • Flexibility and ability to work long hours.
    • Willingness to travel within the focus states as may be required
