    GOVERNMENT RELATIONS ROLES

    CHIEF GOVERNMENT RELATIONS OFFICER (DC-GR)

    Objective:
    To define the organisation’s Government Relations strategy and plan as well as ensure statutory compliance with all relevant legislation and regulations.

    Job Duties:

    •     Develop Government Relations strategy and approach
    •     Develop and implement strategic initiatives that advance and support the organization’s vision and projects
    •     Monitor and evaluate legislative & regulatory issues, changes and potential transactions that could impact the business and its objectives
    •     Organize and steer activities for company leadership within government circles, industries organizations, advocacy groups and other platforms, including senior executive visits.

    Requirements: 

    •     A BSc. in Public Admin, Public Relations, Policy and Strategic Studies or any related course
    •     A Postgraduate degree in Communication or any related course; an MBA or MSc in Political Studies is an added advantage
    •     Membership of at least one of the following professional bodies will be an added advantage: Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR), National Institute of Marketing, Nigeria (NIMN), Chartered Institute of Marketing of Nigeria (CIMN), etc.
    •     Minimum of 15 years experience in Government Relations management or similar experience


    LEAD, GOVERNMENT RELATIONS (DL-GR)

    Objective:
    Manage government relationships and plans and coordinate all key interactions with government partners to ensure the achievement of strategic business objectives.

    Job Duties:

    •     Assist in the implementation of government strategic initiatives that advance and support the organization’s vision and objectives
    •     Research and provide insight into legislative issues, changes and potential transactions that could impact the business and its objectives
    •     Assist senior management to prepare for presentations to legislative committees and where required, provide information in response to legislative requests
    •     Organize and steer activities for company leadership within government circles, industry organizations, advocacy groups and other platforms, including coordination of senior executive visits, events and meetings

    Requirements: 

    •     A BSc. in Public Admin, Public Relations, Policy and Strategic Studies or any related course
    •     A Postgraduate degree in Communication or any related course; an MBA or MSc in Political Studies is an added advantage
    •     Membership of at least one of the following professional bodies will be an added advantage: Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR), National Institute of Marketing, Nigeria (NIMN), Chartered Institute of Marketing of Nigeria (CIMN), etc.
    •     Minimum of 10 years experience in Government Relations management or similar experience

    ANALYST, POLICY AND REGULATIONS (DA-PR)

    Objective:
    Analyze and evaluate the effect of the policies set by the government on the organization and identify ways to address the effects of the policies on the organization.

    Job Duties:

    •     Identify issues or policy areas to explore that affect, or that can affect the organization
    •     Analyze and interpret regulatory proposals, legislation and other policies
    •     Report key findings and propose new policies to address problems
    •     Conduct cost-benefit analyses of existing policies to assess whether a program's outcomes outweighed the expenses or not and if the program cost was more than budgeted
    •     Research public policy, identify existing, emerging and anticipated policy issues and information affecting the society, clients, stakeholders and programs

    Requirements: 

    •     A BSc. in Public Admin, Public Relations, Policy and Strategic Studies or any related course
    •     A Postgraduate degree in Communication or any related course; an MBA or MSc in Political Studies is an added advantage
    •     Membership of at least one of the following professional bodies will be an added advantage: Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR), National Institute of Marketing, Nigeria (NIMN), Chartered Institute of Marketing of Nigeria (CIMN), etc.
    •     Minimum of 3 years experience in Government Relations management or similar experience
