Purpose Statement

• To provide qualitative data management, software support and IT services to the technical team in a timely manner in order to enhance the quality of technical results and output available for decision making within the organisation

Key Deliverables

• Manage Exploration, PED, G&G database, including well, boreholes, drill-hole, geochemical, geotechnical and related data.
• Contribute to each stage of the upstream value chain and make potential and significant impact on managing Exploration data processes efficiently and effectively.
• Provide technical support on well data solutions to exploration and petroleum engineering users.
• Evaluate and troubleshoot application, well data quality issues and database performance
• Support application releases, training and change management functions.
• Interface between business users, technical support, IT project managers and software vendors.
• Champion the effective use of new technology, workstation tools and geological/geophysical applications, so as to integrate all available surface and subsurface data and add value during the evaluation process.
• Assemble and set up new workstations while keeping older systems functioning, interphase with E&P software providers and conduct new software licence evaluation

Minimum Qualification/ Experience

• Degree in Engineering, Geology/Geophysics or Computer Science
• Master's Degree is an added advantage
• Minimum of 10 years’ experience in seismic and well data management or related activities in an active E&P service or operating company
• 2D/3DSeismic data management experience.

Knowledge/Skills:

• Vast in UNIX, LINUX and windows operating system
• Software/IT infrastructure installation and maintenance projects experience.
• Maintenance and optimization of Software distribution systems.
• Perfect knowledge of seismic data, exploration and petroleum engineering dataset management
• Sound knowledge of key risks and uncertainties associated with managing E & P dataset
• Possess strong technical and personal coaching skills required to actively develop the competence and confidence of less experienced staff
• Skilled in hosting of the systems in Data Center
• Data room setup experience for farm out exercise (physical and electronic).
• Manages the integration with other enterprise systems.
