Programmer at Execution Edge Limited

Description:

An indigenous E&P company is looking for a Programmer who will develop the software components of her subsea oil and gas equipment.

Key Roles & Responsibilities:

• Support of software at offshore platforms.
• Assist in the development of more junior programmers to improve quality awareness and effectiveness of software systems
• Identify processes and patterns within work areas and recommend procedures to improve standardization and consistency of approach to manager.
• Confirm project requirements by reviewing program objective, input data, and output requirements.
• Arrange project requirements in programming sequence by analysing requirements; preparing a work flow chart and diagram using knowledge of computer capabilities, subject matter, programming language, and logic.
• Encode project requirements by converting work flow information into computer language.
• Program the computer by entering coded information and prepare reference for users by writing operating instructions.
• Confirm program operation by conducting tests; modifying program sequence and/or codes.
• Maintain historical records by documenting program development and revisions.
• Ensure operation of equipment by following manufacturer's instructions; troubleshooting malfunctions; calling for repairs; evaluating new equipment and techniques.
• Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies.

Requirements:

• B.Sc. in computer science, computer, Electrical or software engineering.
• Minimum of five years relevant experience especially in an oil producing environment (operating companies preferred).
• Experience with C, C++, or other programming languages. Scripting languages knowledge is a plus.
• Experience with real-time control systems.
• Experience with Networking (TCP/ IP) - Creating & Troubleshooting Routes and Switches (VLANS and Routing Tables) CCNA or equivalent certification is a plus. 
• Experience with PLC/SCADA control systems is preferred
