    Procurement Manager

    Responsibilities

    • Oversee the general management and administration of Vendors within the company including procurement of goods and services insurance cover.
    • Develop Strategies for procurement.
    • Manage the contracting, tender and engagement processes of the company to achieve competitiveness, transparency and economic of scale.
    • Coordinate accreditation, enlistment and delisting third party service providers to the company through established and documented criteria.
    • Ensure continuous monitoring of local/foreign markets with a view of keeping abreast of market developments through market surveys and intelligence report on prevailing rental and capital value of goods and services.
    • Arrange for timely custom clearing of imported materials and transportation of same to MESL .
    • Ensure that import duties assessment and insurance of goods are established on time and that all shipping information is available.
    • Participate in periodic internal and external purchasing /tender committee meetings.
    • Manage and coordinate the dissemination of procurement information within the company and to external stakeholders or suppliers.
    • Support activities that ensure current operations, practices and processes are in alignment with corporate objectives and best practices.
    • Coordinate and supervise team activities and ensure compliance with the company’s operating policies, controls and procedures.
    • Monitor/manage performance of subordinates against pre-assigned goals.

    Qualifications

    • A University Degree in Engineering and relevant discipline.
    • Min of 8 - 10 years working experience in procurement within production, power generation and manufacturing industry.
    • Project Management Certification.
    • Post Graduate and/or professional qualification is an advantage.
