Bridging the Gap in Digital Education:

In today’s fast-evolving digital economy, access to relevant skills and career opportunities can largely impact a young person’s future. Unfortunately, many talented individuals in Nigeria struggle with financial and infrastructural barriers that prevent them from gaining the education and experience needed to thrive.

The MyJobMag Career Kickstart Scholarship was designed to bridge this gap, offering a fully funded training programme for aspiring job seekers and career professionals. The impact of this initiative is evident with the success of the 2025 flagship edition.

Objective of MyJobMag Kickstart Scholarship Program:

The objective of this program is to provide Nigerian youths with access to digital skills training, data support for seamless learning, and career guidance to help them transition into the workforce.

Access to High-Demand Skills:

Participants had the opportunity to receive training in various high-demand digital skills, such as Mobile App Development, Cloud Computing, Product Management, UI/UX Design, Digital Marketing, Python Programming, and Web Design.

Application and Selection Process:

700 aspiring professionals applied for the program. However, only 50 candidates were shortlisted, with the most dedicated 20 selected for training.

Training Experience:

The training provided participants with an engaging learning experience, including live virtual classes, classroom assignments, and projects, including access to recorded sessions for reference.

Certifications:

Certifications were also awarded at the end of the program. Participants not only gained technical expertise. They also developed essential soft skills such as discipline, time management, and resilience for the workplace.

Post-Training Support and Career Growth:

A post-training webinar was conducted to help participants maximize their training and explore career growth opportunities. Continued support also included internship placement for high-performing participants.

Testimonials:

Some testimonials from participants of the program highlighted the transformative impact of the program:

“I’m deeply grateful to MyJobMag for making this learning journey not just possible, but seamless. Beyond offering quality training, they went the extra mile to ensure nothing stood in the way of growth. The data subscription support may seem like a small detail to some, but for many of us, it made all the difference— removing the stress of internet access and allowing us to focus fully on learning.

But what truly stands out is how MyJobMag stays involved even after the training ends. Their regular check-ins aren’t just for formality—they genuinely care about our progress, reminding us that learning isn’t just about earning a certificate but about applying knowledge, growing, and making an impact. Knowing that someone is invested in our success keeps the motivation alive.

This experience has been a reminder that the right opportunities, paired with the right support, can be truly life-changing. With the resources and encouragement given, there’s no excuse not to keep pushing forward, putting the knowledge to work, and striving for more. Thank you, MyJobMag, for not just opening doors but also walking with us on the journey to success.” – Victor Omalasoye

Expanding the Impact:

Looking into the future, the program aims to empower 100,000 Nigerian youths with the skills and confidence to thrive in today’s competitive job market. As the program grows, thousands of young people in Nigeria will gain the skills and confidence they need to succeed.
