Welcome to Day 1 of the 30 Day Work Challenge. MyJobMag 30 Day Work Challenge is designed to help you get a solid footing while either starting a new job or as a new manager. You can tweet at us @myjobmag to let us know how you are doing or if you have any questions.

So are you ready for today’s challenge?

Today’s challenge is actually about knowing who and what matters to your success on the role. There are lots of things that determine how successful you can be at your role and how fast that success can happen.

However, one very key important element is your direct supervisor or manager or whoever you are reporting to. And if you are the CEO, probably this will be the board or in some cases, you will need to hold yourself accountable.

You see, at work, your manager is one of the key elements of your work success and therefore it is important to know how to work well with him. So our challenge for you today is for you to get to know your manager. Most of the time we jump into our new role with an idea of what the role should be about and what is important for that role. However, if what you think is important does not align with what your manager thinks, then you are not likely going to be very successful in your new role.

Therefore we will we be kicking off our 30 Day Work Challenge by getting to know your manager very well. Know what his pain point is when it comes to the job. Spend time to find out what he wants to achieve and what is important to him. Know how and what he will define as success for the team and most especially for you on your new role.

Now that is all for today’s challenge. Join us on our LinkedIn or Facebook  and let us know how you are faring.
