    Women Center Facilitator

    Locations: Maiduguri, Dikwa - Borno
    Slot: Maiduguri (5), Dikwa (3)

    Job Summary

    • The Women’s Center Facilitator will be responsible for organizing and implementing group psychosocial activities at the women center including skills and knowledge building activities and recreational activities.
    • She is overall lead in community mobilization for GBV awareness and sensitization at community level of the project sites in Maiduguri.

    Main Responsibilities

    • In coordination with beneficiaries, identify relevant skills building and recreational activities to be conducted at the women friendly spaces and draw up a schedule for activity implementation
    • In coordination with volunteers / partners a weekly schedule for activities in the women center.
    • Identify and make a requisition for all materials required to conduct Women Friendly Space activities
    • Organize feedback sessions each quarter with beneficiaries of WFS activities to identify strengths and weaknesses of the space and identify solutions for sharing with GBV manager for improvement.
    • Coordinate with the case worker to ensure survivors who have been referred to the women center receive timely and quality services.
    • In coordination with the GBV Manager, identify barriers to GBV and develop subsequent messages to overcome the barriers
    • In coordination with women, leaders / SEMA / NEMA organize and oversee the implementation on calendar day celebrations such as 16 days of activism, international women’s day, day of the African child, international day of the girl child etc.
    • Conduct training and coaching sessions for volunteers / partners to deliver appropriate GBV messages to community members.
    • Supervise community volunteers / partners during field work to ensure correct GBV messages are disseminated to the community.
    • Conduct weekly meetings with volunteers / partners to collect sensitization reports, develop messages for the following week.
    • Organize and implement bi weekly discussions with men in the community on GBV related topics
    • Organize and implement monthly discussion sessions with adolescents on GBV related topics
    • Compile weekly and monthly WFS activity reports
    • Contribute to a positive team environment
    • Practice self-care
    • Maintain confidentiality and ethical conduct
    • Submit weekly and monthly activities reports to the supervisor every Friday and at the end of each month

    GBV Case Worker

    Location: Damboa, Dikwa, Maiduguri, Borno

    Job Summary

    • The Case Worker will be responsible for case management and psychosocial support of vulnerable women, and girls including survivors of gender based violence, in the project sites in Maiduguri, Jere and Konduga

    Major Responsibilities

    • Provide direct, one-on-one and ongoing case management services, including safety planning
    • Provide direct, one-on-one emotional support to survivors throughout case management process including final case evaluation and closure
    • Provide referrals for survivors to other services including child protection and specialized mental health services, accompany of survivors where appropriate and conduct follow- up to ensure appropriate services have been provided to the survivor.
    • Identify gaps in referral services and report these gaps to the GBV Manager for action.
    • Liaise with community volunteers for purposes of survivor follow-up as part of case management to individual survivors.
    • Ensure survivor-centered services, including adherence to guiding principles of respect, confidentiality, safety and security and non-discrimination
    • Complete and maintain case management records to maximize confidentiality and safety
    • Participate in case review meetings and referral coordination meetings if needed
    • Submit case management reports on a weekly and monthly basis
    • Conduct an analysis of trends of GBV incidences and related information on a quarterly basis and present report to the GBV manager for advocacy and program future program

    GBV Deputy Manager

    Location: Dikwa Office

    Job Summary

    • The GBV Deputy Manager will lead the recruitment and training of new GBV volunteers, provide technical support to GBV staff and lead close coordination with a community-based organization (CBO) partner to ensure program quality and the achievement of program targets.

    Main Responsibilities
    Staff Supervision & Development:

    • Provide ongoing supervision, leadership and technical support and guidance to all GBV program staff in the field
    • Develop training and capacity building plans for all GBV program staff based on job descriptions and identified needs to encourage innovative and quality programming.
    • Organize and facilitate trainings to develop capacity of GBV staff and other partner organizations to respond to cases of GBV in line with international standards
    • Maintain open and professional relations with team members, promoting a strong team spirit and providing oversight and guidance to enable staff to successfully perform in their positions.
    • Ensure timely completion and submission of monthly timesheets, probations reviews and annual performance reviews. Coordinate and oversee staff workplans, work and vacation schedules.
    • If/as required identify staff performance issues and work with Human Resources to document and address these in accordance with the National Staff Employment Policies
    • Adapt existing training materials to reflect field adaptations and GBV staff skills requirements; modify existing training modules and tools, develop facilitation guides, and train GBV staff as required. Related training topics include: GBV core concepts, principles of case management, guiding principles of responding to GBV

    Activity Planning & Implementation:

    • Work closely with GBV staff to design activities that respond to identified needs and program goals and objectives
    • Prepare and update detailed program workplans that support and achieve the overall program goal and objectives within the desired timeline (PMT)
    • Provide direction and monitor staff in their implementation of the workplan and quality of technical activities, share relevant information and direction to improve quality and achieve time-bound goals
    • Complete and share GBV data via GBVIMS tools
    • Plan timely for procurement of resources to ensure smooth and timely implementation of activities
    • Monitor monthly expenditures and track budgets; approve expenditures to designated level
    • Closely coordinate with GBV manager and GBV consultant to ensure timely and compliant implementation of program activities and expenditures
    • Work closely with the GBV Coordinator Manager and EPC to understand program goals and to meet expectations
    • Set program strategies and a work plan, in coordination with the GBV coordinator, to meet program goals and to determine operational needs
    • Analyze trends of GBV and develop/adjust program strategies to meet need
    • Contribute to production of proposals for any new projects
    • Work with the GBV Manager and coordinator to conduct a GBV and situational analysis in the areas of operation
    • Lead the establishment of Women’s Centers/ community centers as hubs for recreational activities, life skills trainings, information and case management support
    • Identify local partners and points of service and support for individuals in need of protection assistance
    • Work in collaboration with the Protection partners to establish/reinforce appropriate community outreach and support structures as well as establish and/or reinforce referral pathways.

    HR Management & Staff Support:

    • Support the development of codes of conduct for GBV program staff and volunteers
    • Supervise and mentor GBV staff working for the project
    • Develop support strategies for GBV staff and volunteers and introduce principles of self-care,
    • Provide technical and program management trainings for staff and volunteers

    Grant Monitoring & Reporting

    • Undertake regular communication with GBV staff to assess progress and identify technical quality issues and/or other implementation issues, provide solutions and implement modifications as required
    • Build capacity of staff in using M&E systems and tools
    • Draft weekly program updates in collaboration with GBV Program Assistants and the GBV Coordinator/Consultant
    • Contribute to internal and donor reports as per set schedules (bi-weekly, monthly, quarterly and annually) on activities, indicators and achievements.
    • Support the collection, analysis and dissemination of project data and information for program review and information sharing
    • Provide evidence-based input in development of program proposals for expansion or continuation of GBV activities
    • Develop financial pipelines in line with program implementation plans
    • Ensure planned program activities are in line with the budget and executed in a timely manner
    • Work with Logistics to procure program supplies within program budgets
    • Adhere to IMC and donor requirements and flag any funding challenges

    Coordination & Representation:

    • Coordinate and advocate with other governmental and non-governmental service providers to promote mainstreaming of GBV across sectors and delivery of quality multi-sectoral GBV response, at the national level
    • Coordinate with UNFPA, government and NGO partners to ensure well-coordinated prevention and response activities
    • Attend regular management meetings to share information and lessons learnt and make joint decisions and ensure harmonization of tools and approaches across programs
    • Represent IMC GBV program in all coordination meeting in the field and share the minutes with GBV Senior Management team in Maiduguri
    • Actively participate in GBV working group and relevant task force meetings for collaboration and program planning and Contribute to joint action plans
    • Work with partners and community members to monitor and strengthen referral pathways

    Qualifications And Experience

    • Master's in Civil Law, Human Rights, Gender, Development, Psychology or a relevant equivalent;
    • Strong background in human rights and familiarity with practical challenges faced by displaced and other vulnerable persons,
    • Direct experience and/or broad knowledge of information, referral assistance or community center-based programming;
    • Experience conducting assessments and a willingness to help plan assessments;
    • Familiarity with systems and concepts for monitoring and evaluating project performance;
    • Commitment to supporting quality programs through promotion and integration of protection principles in project work in line with international best practices (meeting or exceeding minimum standards);
    • Interest in building staff capacity via trainings, resource development, shadow visits, etc.;
    • Experience working with local organizations in developing contexts;
    • Ability and willingness to maintain regular presence at project sites (including all outreach and community center locations);
    • Proven experience in humanitarian action and in fragile contexts
    • Experience in project management, including donor relations and staff supervision with relief/emergency response activities, especially assessment, logistics and monitoring, are an advantage.
    • Ability and willingness to work during irregular working hours when needed
    • Strong computer skills (Excel, Microsoft, PowerPoint and Outlook)

    Social Mobilization Officer

    Job Summary

    • The Social Mobilization Officer will be responsible for designing, planning and providing technical guidance on social mobilisation activities in the polio eradication project in both Borno and Kano states.
    • He/She will work closely with the local implementing partners, social mobilization working groups both at the states and also CGPP secretariat, to ensure efficient and effective social mobilisation in the implementation of the PEI activities in the two states.

    Main Responsibilities

    • Support implementation of social and community mobilization activities in collaboration with the local implementing partners’ staff (LGACs, VWS, VCMs), state social mobilization working groups
    • Support advocacy with religious and community leaders to create an enabling environment to improve awareness on the benefits of polio and routine immunization and promote uptake of these services during immunization plus days campaigns and at the health facilities.
    • Organize meetings with religious, traditional and community leaders, village heads, community groups and other relevant community stakeholders to improve awareness on polio, routine immunization, AFP surveillance.
    • Support training and supervision of Voluntary Community Mobilizers and other social and or community mobilization agents working under the polio project.
    • Support the M&E Officers and State Project Managers to effectively collect, collate and report social and community mobilization data as required.
    • Collaborate with State Project Managers and State M&E Officers to ensure documentation of all community mobilization activities.
    • Prepare and submit timely and quality activity reports, including field notes and success stories, to effectively capture lessons learnt on the ground from the projects
    • Provide administrative support as needed.
    • Carry out other tasks to support the polio project activities as assigned.

    Qualifications

    • First degree or its equivalent in social/ behavioural Sciences (Development Studies, Anthropology, Psychology, and Health Education) or any other relevant discipline of study
    • Master’s degree will be an added advantage.
    • Proven experience on strategic communication planning for behaviour development, social mobilization, participatory communication, and research.
    • Minimum of Three (3) years post NYSC or discharge certificate “Hands On” work experience in advocacy, social and or community mobilization in polio projects or any health programs.
    • Excellent communication, and organizational skills; - and- ability to influence and facilitate advocacy agendas at LGA and State level.
    • Understanding of local communities and cultures in the relevant states of operations and ability to communicate fluently in Hausa.
    • Strong verbal and written communication skills in English.
    • Ability to travel and work in difficult settings, including remote rural areas of Nigeria.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint, or similar software.
    • Well-organized, with ability to track multiple activities and deadlines.

    Routine Immunization (RI) Officer

    Job Summary

    • The Routine Immunization (RI) Officer is responsible for the overall planning and implementation of monitoring all activities and outputs of the Routine Immunization activities.
    • S/He will undertake training responsibilities to equip the local government, partner organization and community level staff/volunteers to undertake Routine Immunization tasks.
    • The RI Officer will contribute to CGPP’s efforts in outcome Routine Immunization and will draft and submit RI reports to the PO.

    Essential Responsibilities
    The main responsibility of the RI Officer is to strengthen immunization along international (Cameroon/Chad/Niger), state and local government area borders through the following:

    • Apply the output indicators of the Routine Immunization project to measure the achievement of each task and objective.
    • Support the conduct of border synchronization meetings
    • Ensure that RI social mobilization/BCC sessions in border communities are conducted
    • Ensure that RI outreach sessions in border communities are conducted
    • Ensure that RI fixed post sessions in border health facilities are conducted
    • Conduct supportive supervision of RI fixed post sessions in border communities
    • Conduct supportive supervision of RI outreach sessions in border communities
    • Plan and conduct regular site visits to objectively observe the status of RI implementation using the developed program supervisory & monitoring checklist as per CGPP/SMoH guidance
    • Provide training along to partner organization staff and community volunteers on RI social mobilization, behavior change communications.
    • Monitor partner organization’s performance on all project activities related to routine immunization.
    • Attend Working Group meetings on routine immunizations and other discussion forums; participate in State, LGA and Ward level RI meetings and activities.
    • Write success stories on RI intervention, to submit to the PO.
    • Maintain frequent communication with Project Officer to ensure program activities and objectives related to RI are communicated.

    • Demonstrated experience in training government and NGO staff in technical areas such as immunization.
    • Must have experience in implementing and monitoring behavior change interventions; and the use of information, education and communication materials.
    • Must have problem solving and technical presentation skills.
    • Excellent interpersonal communication and organizational skills, and attention to details.
    • Must be competent in operating Microsoft Office Suite applications, especially MS word, Excel and PowerPoint.
    • Must be fluent in English and Hausa, and have excellent technical writing and verbal skills.
    • Must be a Nigerian citizen.
    • Candidates with working experience in Borno State will be preferred.
