    Executive Director

    Reports to: Board of Directors

    Key Responsibilities

    • Works with the Board to develop and implement comprehensive strategies for LEAP Africa’s growth
    • Oversee the implementation of LEAP's programmes, projects and activities
    • Oversee the management of LEAP's office operations
    • Establish and manage stratetigic relationships with local and international partners
    • Manage the LEAP brand, actively promoting LEAP's programmes and activities across different media platforms
    • Raise funds on behalf of LEAP Africa and interface with its local and international partners and funders
    • Serve as a spokesperson for LEAP, providing training sessions, presentations and representing the organisation at local and international events
    • Manage LEAP's budget and ensure transparency and efficient use of the organisations financial and nonfinancial resources
    • Provide regular reports on LEAP's progress to board members, funders, supporters and other stakeholders
    • Oversee any other tasks that may emerge as the organisation grows

    Required Experience and Skills

    • Minimum of 5 years' professional work experience with managerial experience and the ability to energize and lead a team
    • Strong public speaking and presentation skills
    • Experience in programme planning, training management and delivery and measurement & evaluation
    • Strong analytical skills and a proven track record of leadership and team coordination
    • Practical knowledge of proposal writing, grant sourcing and donor management
    • Learning facilitation and curriculum conceptualization
    • Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office tools: MS Word; Excel, Powerpoint and Project

    Personal Qualities:

    • A person of high integrity and moral courage
    • An experienced project manager with experience in leading a team effort preferably in the development space
    • A skilled negotiator, familiar with non-profit fundraising and who is able to develop proposals and bids
    • An excellent communicator, both oral and written, capable of engaging local and international partners at a senior level on programmes and organizational initiatives and spoken English
    • Flexible multi-tasker with good time management skills who can work to deadlines
    • Passion for Nigerian development and commitment to transforming the country
    • Exhibits LEAP's values and lives its ideals - leadership, effectiveness, accountability and professionalism
    • Willing to travel frequently within and beyond Nigeria
