    HC3 Nigeria State M&E Officers

    Summary

    • The Johns Hopkins Center for Communication (CCP) and Health Communication Capacity Collaborative (HC3) Nigeria Family Planning Project seeks one (1) Monitoring & Evaluation (M&E) Officer for each Family Planning project states (Bauchi, Ebonyi & Sokoto).
    • This position will support the overall data management system of the country office by conducting data collection, entry and cleaning, and providing technical support for family planning project activities and research activities on the project states.
    • The Monitoring and Evaluation Officers will collate, enter and clean state level activity data, monitor flow of data collection forms and check for data accuracy.
    • The incumbents will maintain regular communication with the State Coordinator, RM&E Senior Technical Advisor and Deputy Director - Family Planning.

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities
    In addition to the overall technical inputs to the project as described above, specific duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties maybe assigned:

    • Support the RM&E Senior Technical Advisor in program monitoring and evaluation tasks, including the implementation of M&E systems (data collection, paperflow management, data management and results reporting)
    • Working with the State Coordinator and state team, provide M&E support for effective implementation of FP Social Mobilization activities, including monitoring uptake of family planning methods at health facilities in the intervention LGAs
    • Participate in the training of Community Mobilizers, Volunteers and others on M&E data collection and processing
    • Participate in the development of workplans and budget for project M&E activities
    • Contribute to the preparation of tables, charts and figures for internal and external publications Perform data entry and cleaning, and assist in the management of quantitative data sets
    • Contribute to the preparation of literature searches and bibliographies
    • Provide administrative support as needed
    • Carry out other tasks to support HC3 FP & Malaria project efforts as assigned

    Supervisory Responsibilities:

    • This position will have no direct supervisory responsibilities. The position reports to the State Coordinator for the respective state.

    Education and/or Experience

    • HND or Bachelor's degree with at least 3 years work experience in monitoring and evaluation of health programs
    • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Ward and PowerPoint, or similar software
    • Working knowledge of data processing computer packages (e.g.Epilnfo, Epidata)
    • Strong verbal and written communication skills in English
    • Ability to verbally communicate in Hausa or lgbo, depending on location
    • Well-organized, with ability to track multiple projects and deadlines
    • Experience in providing administrative support to work teams
    • Ability and willingness to travel as required within and between project states
    • Ability to work successfully in a cross-cultural, team-based environment
    • Experience with database management a plus

    HC3 Nigeria Admin and Finance Assistants

    Summary

    • The Administrative & Finance Assistant for the USAID HC3 Nigeria Family Planning is responsible for providing office support by assisting with administrative and financial systems, logistics and procedures.

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities
    In addition to the general duties described above, specific duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned:

    • Assist the HC3 State Program Coordinator and staff with preparation and logistics for community activities, meetings, trainings and other events as needed at the field office.
    • Maintain general office systems including filing; coordinating timely time sheet  submission; sending, receiving and distributing faxes; and photocopying.
    • Assist HC3 office staff with the tracking and development of administrative documents;
    • Maintain organized files on all admin and financial related reports and documents.
    • Maintain the project field office petty cash, prepare payments, ensure proper authorization for payments, distribute payments as required, and supervise the processing of staff claims and advances and per diem.
    • Complete purchase orders, time and attendance records and prepare necessary reports for Admin and Finance Managers, and HC3 Deputy Project Director - Family Planning.
    • Assist with identification and payments to vendors.
    • Submit monthly financial reports as required to the HC3 Finance Manager.
    • Carry out other tasks to support HC3 FP & Malaria project efforts as assigned

    • This position will have no direct supervisory responsibilities. The position reports to the State Coordinator for the respective state.

    Education and/or Experience

    • HND or Bachelor's degree with at least 3 years work experience with admin and finance support for health programs
    • Strong spoken and written English skills
    • Excellent communication skills
    • High level administrative writing skills
    • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint, or similar software
    • Professional and organized
    • Experienced in supply management and inventory control
    • Fluency in Hausa or lgbo, depending on location
    • Internet research abilities
    • Strong problem solving skills
    • Ability to work independently
    • Well-organized, with ability to track multiple activities and deadlines

    HC3 Nigeria Social Mobilization Officer

    Summary

    • The Johns Hopkins Center for Communication (CCP) and Health Communication Capacity Collaborative (HC3) Nigeria Family Planning Project seeks one (1) Social Mobilization Officer for each Family Planning project states (Bauchi, Ebonyi & Sokoto).
    • The Social Mobilization Officer will provide technical support to the state project team in the process of planning, implementation, monitoring, and evaluation of social and community mobilization activities.
    • S/he is expected to work in close collaboration with the Community Mobilizers, State and LGA Health Educators, Ward Development Committees and the State HC3 Team to plan, organize, conduct, report and follow-up social and community mobilization activities related to family planning. The incumbents will maintain regular communication with State Coordinator, Communication Advisor and Deputy Director Family Planning.

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities
    In addition to the overall technical inputs to the project as described above, specific duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned:

    • Support implementation of social and community mobilization activities in collaboration with the Community Mobilizers, State and LGA Health Educators, Ward Development Committees Support advocacy with religious and community leaders to create an enabling environment to improve awareness on the benefits of family planning and promote uptake of services.
    • Organize meetings with religious, traditional and community leaders, village heads, community groups, women’s groups, trade associations and other relevant community segments to improve awareness on family planning and availability of services
    • Support training and supervision of Community Mobilizers and other social/community mobilization agents working under the HC3 Family Projector implementing government-led initiatives.
    • Support the HC3 M&E Officer and State Coordinator to effectively collect, collate and report social/community mobilization data as required
    • Collaborate with State Coordinator and State M&E Officers to ensure documentation of all community mobilization activities
    • Prepare and submit timely and quality activity reports, including field notes and success stories, to effectively capture lessons learnt on the ground from the projects.
    • Provide administrative support as needed.
    • Carry out other tasks to support HC3 FP& Malaria project efforts as assigned

    Supervisory Responsibilities:

    • This position will have no direct supervisory responsibilities. The position reports to the State Coordinator for the respective state.

    Education and/or Experience

    • HND or Bachelor's degree with at least 3 years work experience in advocacy, social and/or community mobilization for health programs
    • Excellent communication, and organizational skills; and ability to influence and facilitate advocacy agendas at LGA and State level
    • Understanding of local communities and cultures in the relevant project states and ability to communicate fluently in Hausa or lgbo, depending on location
    • Strong verbal and written communication skills in English
    • Ability to travel and work in difficult settings, including remote rural areas of Nigeria.
    • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint, or similar software
    • Well-organized, with ability to track multiple activities and deadlines
    • Experience in providing administrative support to work teams
    • Ability to work successfully ins cross-cultural, team-based environment
