    Vice-Chancellor

    The University seeks candidates with vision, proven academic distinction, managerial ability, integrity and transparency in private and public life. The right candidate should also have ability to develop linkages with the external communities to meet the emerging needs of the University, command respect and engender cooperation and loyalty of Staff and students of the University and its alumni.

    SCHEDULE OF DUTIES
    The Vice-Chancellor shall:

    • Be competent at all times to advise the Council in maintaining on any matter affecting the administration, finance and policy of the University;
    • Be generally responsible to the Council in maintaining the efficiency and good order of the university and for ensuring the proper enforcement of its statues, ordinances and regulations;
    • Be responsible for discipline in the University;
    • Regulate the admission of students subject to guidelines and procedures approved by Senate and to any law or policy for the time being applicable to the University;
    • At management level, provide leadership in the relentless pursuit of excellence in all aspects of University life; and
    • Undertake any other duties that will promote the growth and development of the University in a conducive atmosphere.

    THE ELIGIBLE CANDIDATE

    • An eligible candidate for the post of Vice-Chancellor, Christopher University must be:

    Registrar

    Responsibilities

    • The Registrar, a Principal Officer, is the Chief Administrative Officer of the university responsible to the Vice-Chancellor for the day-to-day administrative work of the University except for financial matters, which fall within the purview of the Bursar, The Registrar is also the Secretary to the Council, Senate, Convocation and Congregation of the University.
    • The candidate shall be a person of high integrity and strong moral character with excellent interpersonal relations.
    • The Candidate must be able to instill confidence in others and command the loyalty and respect of people.
    • The candidate must fully understand the complexity of a university system and must be able to effectively utilize its human resources to attain a world class administrative system.
    • The candidate must be in good health, be ICT complaint and must not be older than sixty (60) years at assumption of duty.
    • In addition the Registrar must be able to demonstrate dynamism and wisdom when confronted with crisis or undesirable situations.
    • S/he must also be an achiever who should show exceptional abilities for institutional loyalty and networking with the outside world.

    QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE

    • Candidates must possess a good honours degree and at least fifteen (15) years of post qualification administrative and professional experience, with a minimum of five (5) years at the management level.
    • The candidate must not be at a level less than the equivalent of a Deputy Registrar in a Federal University.
    • Possession of a higher degree and membership of recognized professional bodies will be an added advantage.
    • University and not be more than 65 years old on resumption of demonstrated astute managerial ability to maintain the peace and academic stability for which the University represents;
    • A scholar of outstanding national and international repute, with proficiency in information communication Technology (ICED) and considerable experience at top levels of University Administration;
    • A Professor with track record ofteaching, research and community service;
    • A person of entrepreneurial and innovative predisposition, with a proven track record appropriate to the vision and mission of a first class university.
    • A person endowed with strong character and ability to give courageous and effective leadership;     .
    • A person capable of inspiring the advancement of learning and reaching out to all persons without discriminationin any form;
    • Of sound health, pleasant disposition, unassailable integrity and strong moral character for inspiring and maintaining moral discipline among staff and students; and
    • Of proven ability to initiate contacts and funding from national and international sources.
