    Tyre Puller

    Job Description

    • The Tyre Puller is responsible for removing, installing, inspecting, and maintaining tyres on heavy duty trucks, trailers, and company vehicles.
    • The role ensures safe and efficient tyre operations to support fleet reliability, road safety, and minimal downtime.
    • The ideal candidate must have hands on experience handling truck tyres, strong attention to detail, and the ability to work in a fast paced workshop or depot environment.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Remove and install tyres on trucks, trailers, and heavy duty equipment.
    • Inspect tyres for wear, damage, punctures, and tread depth.
    • Repair punctured tyres using patching and vulcanizing procedures.
    • Perform wheel balancing and alignment assistance as required.
    • Mount, demount, rotate, and inflate tyres to specified PSI levels.
    • Check and maintain correct torque on wheel nuts.
    • Operate tyre changing machines, bead breakers, and lifting equipment safely.
    • Maintain accurate records of tyre usage, replacements, and repairs.
    • Ensure proper storage and inventory monitoring of tyres.
    • Assist in roadside tyre changes or emergencies when necessary.
    • Follow all safety procedures and ensure compliance with workshop standards.

    Qualifications

    • SSCE / Technical School Certificate or equivalent.
    • 1–3 years experience as a Tyre Puller, Tyre Technician, or in a similar role (preferably with heavy-duty vehicles).
    • Ability to mount and demount heavy truck tyres manually or using machines.
    • Strong knowledge of tyre types, sizes, wear patterns, and repair techniques.
    • Ability to lift 50 pounds or more and work in physically demanding conditions.
    • Good understanding of safety procedures in a workshop or fleet environment.
    • Basic mechanical aptitude and ability to use hand and power tools.
    • Strong teamwork and communication skills.

    Tyre Officer

    Job Description

    • The Tyre Officer is responsible for managing the company’s tyre operations, including monitoring tyre performance, coordinating replacements and repairs, maintaining tyre inventory, and ensuring optimal safety standards across the fleet.
    • This role supports fleet efficiency by ensuring all tyres are in good condition, properly tracked, and maintained in line with manufacturer specifications and company policies.
    • The ideal candidate will have strong technical knowledge of heavy duty vehicle tyres, excellent record keeping skills, and the ability to supervise tyre technicians or tyre pullers.

    Key Responsibilities
    Tyre Management & Supervision:

    • Oversee daily tyre operations, including fitting, repairs, rotation, and inspections.
    • Monitor tyre wear patterns, pressure levels, and overall performance across the fleet.
    • Supervise tyre pullers/technicians and ensure work is carried out safely and correctly.

    Inspection & Maintenance:

    • Conduct routine tyre inspections on trucks, trailers, and equipment.
    • Recommend tyre replacements based on tread depth, condition, and safety standards.
    • Ensure tyres are mounted, aligned, balanced, and inflated properly.
    • Coordinate timely repairs for punctures, damaged sidewalls, or bead issues.

    Inventory & Documentation:

    • Maintain accurate records of tyre usage, replacements, mileage tracking, and repair history.
    • Manage tyre inventory levels, ensuring adequate stock of tyres, tubes, valves, and repair materials.
    • Track tyre life cycle and forecast replacement needs.
    • Prepare weekly or monthly tyre performance reports for management.

    Safety & Compliance:

    • Ensure all tyre activities comply with safety regulations and company policies.
    • Train drivers and staff on tyre care, air pressure checks, and safe practices.
    • Report tyre incidents, failures, or abnormalities to management promptly.

    Qualifications
    Education:

    • SSCE / Technical Certificate / Diploma in Mechanical Technology, Automotive Engineering, or a related field.
    • Additional tyre management training or certification is an added advantage.

    Experience:

    • 3 - 5 years experience in tyre management or as a Tyre Officer / Tyre Supervisor in a fleet, transport, or logistics environment.
    • Strong technical understanding of heavy-duty truck and trailer tyres.

    Skills & Competencies:

    • Strong knowledge of tyre types, sizes, treads, load ratings, and repair techniques.
    • Ability to identify wear patterns and root causes (alignment issues, overloading, inflation problems).
    • Good supervisory and leadership skills.
    • Accurate record keeping and computer literacy (Excel, fleet software).
    • Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
    • Physically able to support tyre operations when required.

    Heavy Duty Electrician

    Job Description

    • The Heavy Duty Electrician is responsible for diagnosing, repairing, installing, and maintaining electrical systems on the company’s fleet of heavy duty trucks, trailers, and equipment.
    • The primary goal is to ensure all electrical and electronic systems are operating efficiently and safely to minimize downtime and support fleet reliability.
    • The ideal candidate will be highly skilled in troubleshooting complex electrical faults, interpreting wiring diagrams, and working with modern vehicle electronics, including CANBUS systems, sensors, lighting circuits, and control modules.

    Requirements

    • Diagnose electrical faults in heavy duty trucks and trailers using diagnostic tools and wiring diagrams.
    • Perform preventive electrical maintenance, including battery testing, alternator checks, wiring inspections, and lighting system repairs.
    • Inspect, repair, and replace electrical components such as:
      • Alternators
      • Starters
      • Batteries
      • Wiring harnesses
      • Control modules
      • Sensors and actuators
      • Switches and relays
    • Install and maintain electrical systems such as tracking units, inverter systems, lighting systems, and power distribution circuits.
    • Test electrical systems and components to ensure proper functioning after repairs.
    • Perform continuity checks and voltage tests using multimeters and diagnostic scanners.
    • Identify and resolve CANBUS related faults and communication issues.
    • Follow manufacturer electrical troubleshooting procedures and safety guidelines.
    • Accurately document all electrical repairs and maintenance performed.
    • Ensure compliance with electrical safety standards and company maintenance policies.

    Qualifications

    • Trade Test Certificate / Diploma in Automotive Electrical Engineering, Heavy Duty Auto-Electrics, or related field (NVQ or City & Guilds equivalent preferred).
    • 3 – 5 years of proven experience as a Heavy Duty Electrician working with articulated trucks, rigid trucks, or heavy equipment.
    • Strong electrical diagnostic and troubleshooting skills.
    • Ability to interpret wiring diagrams, schematics, and electronic system charts.
    • Proficiency with electrical tools such as multimeters, ammeters, scanners, and test benches.
    • Ability to lift 50 pounds or more, and work in confined spaces, crouched or kneeling positions.
    • Strong attention to detail, safety conscious, and able to work with minimal supervision.
