Job Description

• Load, handle and transport goods safely to the various destinations
• Inspect vehicles for mechanical items and safety issues and perform preventative maintenance
• Plan routes and meet delivery schedules
• Document and log work/rest periods and kilometres spent driving and retain fuel/toll receipts
• Comply with truck driving rules and regulations as per Federal, State and local authorities as well as with company policies and procedures
• Collect and verify delivery instructions
• Report defects, accidents or violations.

Requirements

• Minimum of an SSCE degree
• Minimum of 4 years’ experience as a truck driver
• Valid truck driving licence
• Must be able to read and write
• Must be conversant with Abuja road networks
• Ability to drive up to 20MT capacity trucks
• Ability to drive long hours and travel regularly
• Extensive knowledge of applicable truck driving rules and regulations
• No recent driving violations
• Adaptability and foresight to handle unexpected situations such as traffic etc.

Responsibilities

• Transport company’s senior managers to and from destinations
• Arrive at destinations on schedule
• Research and plan for traffic, construction and weather delays.
• When accosted with clients, interact with clients professionally at all times.
• Ensure that the vehicle is clean and always fueled and ready for use
• Arrange for vehicle repairs as at when due
• Keep mileage records and repair records up to date.
• Inspect and ensure that the company’s vehicle particulars are up to date
• Drive cautiously and obey all traffic rules and regulations.

Requirements

• At least SSCE.
• A valid driver’s license
• Minimum of 4 years driving top management staff of corporate organizations
• Ability to drive both manual and automatic
• Record of good driving
• Polite and professional disposition
• Ability to remain calm under stressful situations
• Good communication skills
• Good knowledge of Abuja road.
• Must be residing in Abuja
