    Technical Project Manager Lead

    Reports To: Senior Management

    Job Summary

    • This position reports to senior management. The Technical Project Manager Lead is in charge of the technical aspects of product development and is involved from concept to product delivery.
    • We are looking for a manager with a software development background who understands and has worked on full stack projects, both web and mobile, and is familiar with payments stack.
    • The candidate must be familiar with HTML, CSS, JavaScript, SQL DBs, NodeJS and Python, or has worked on similar stack technologies.
    • The candidate must also be familiar managing the server-side core, creating and dimensioning DBs, and creating web platforms, and mobile
    • Apps on the Android and IOS platforms, and integrating various 3rd party VAS products via APIs and gateways including SMS, IM and Email.
    • The candidate must have experience with software development and management tools such as GitHub, and project management tools such as Jira, Trello, Asana, etc.

    Duties and Responsibilities

    • Lead a group of software development programmers (both in-house and outsourced)
    • Keep projects on track and on time; properly articulating and capturing deliverables and dependencies, and managing plans with adequate slack
    • Provide technical product requirements, structure & documentation
    • Design, develop and test high throughput issuance transaction processing systems
    • Supervise and development efficient, elegant, clean code with no unnecessary complication or abstraction
    • Deliver code in an agile team environment - you will operate in a weekly / bi-weekly scrum model
    • Managing the technical aspects of the project from software development to IT integration
    • Supervise and perform QA / QC on project and verify functionality and specifications required to pass QC.
    • Oversee both internal and external User Acceptance Testing and assist the marketing team in proposing modifications enhancements and new products.

    Skills and Experience

    • 7+ years of experience in the IT & Fintech Sectors
    • Experience in object-oriented programming and concepts
    • Proven track record in delivering highly available, scalable systems on time
    • Good understanding of web services and related standards like REST/JSON
    • Experience developing data-driven applications using an industry standard RDBMS (e.g, DB2, SQL Server, MySQL, etc.)
    • Experience in both development and quality assurance activities
    • Experience in QA methodologies, test automation and automation frameworks
    • Experience in driving Integration testing, UAT internally and with external vendors
    • Experience working in payments or financial services industry
    • Exposure to Agile Methodologies
    • A keen eye for detail and acute numerate skills
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
    • Proactive with a can do attitude
    • Excellent leadership and decision-making abilities.

    Lead - Software Developer

    Job Description

    • An exciting opportunity exists for a lead, software developer to join a dynamic project team. The role would suit someone with proven experience building production, commercial-quality web-based applications that also has proven in depth SQL-Server development experience.
    • Applicants must be comfortable with advanced SQL syntax, SQL Server Business Intelligence development and SQL Server (additional experience with Oracle is highly desirable).
    • The job holder needs to be flexible and open to new ideas or change with the passion and drive to excel in their career.
    • The job holder must be self-directed, organized, and extremely attentive to details. The job holder must recognize the value of agile, iterative development processes, SDLC and have strong OOD and OOA skills.

    Responsibilities
    The Application Developer will be expected to have aptitudes, skills, knowledge and experience on the following areas:

    • Demonstrable analytical skills with regard to specifying and detailing business processes and requirements
    • Delivery experience with .NET framework, including C#, ADO.NET, LINQ and ASP.NET
    • Extensive experience with SQL Server (2005/2008/2012)
    • Experience with SQL data business intelligence (OLAP, etc…) preferred
    • Advanced knowledge and experience in HTML and DHTML, JavaScript, CSS
    • Practical experience in Agile development methodologies
    • Ability to work both in a collaborative team environment and independently.
    • Proficient verbal and written communication skills.
    • Experience with implementation and testing of DB backups, restores and recovery models.
    • Database server deployment design, processes, and day-to-day operations, including monitoring and Performance Tuning and Optimization (PTO) using native monitoring and troubleshooting tools.
    • Formulation, management and execution of data test strategies, plans and delivery commitments in concert with business and project management efforts.
    • Mobile and web service development experience
    • Experience with ticketing systems (e.g.; JIRA, Bugzilla) and managed workflows
    • Experience with SharePoint 2010 and above preferred
    • Strong familiarity with source control systems (e.g. Team Suite)

    Problem Solving:

    • The Application Developer will often be challenged with new problems to which they will need to rely on strong problem-solving skills to resolve:
    • The ability to accurately identify the cause of a system/application malfunction, interpret that to management and their colleagues, document and propose resolutions
    • Fully understand structured methodologies (e.g. Agile) for using programming code to solve business problems
    • Ensure all changes and implementations are well tested and managed in a controlled manner with full rollback plans
    • Correctly identify when assistance is required and request it accordingly
    • Collaborate with the wider team in matters where their support is required

    Experience / Technical skills:

    • Bachelor’s Degree (B.S./B.A.), Computer Science or similar (Minimum 2:2)
    • 5+ years experience as an application developer.
    • Highly proficient with the following: Java, HTML, CSS, JavaScript and XML, Spring MVC, Angular JS, Bootstrap, SOAP and Restful Services
    • Must have NYSC certificate or exemption certificate
    • Must list hands-on building and direct responsibility of projects worked on
    • Experience in the use and Administration of MSSQL Database and Oracle Database
    • Using Stored Procedures, Functions, Views and so on.
    • Efficient and effective use of NetBeans, Eclipse, SQL Server Management Studio (SSMS), PLSQL Developer.
    • Sound knowledge of application deployment on Apache Tomcat Server, WildFly Server/JBOSS.
    • A team-player with good interpersonal skill.
