Job Purpose
The History/CRS Teacher is responsible for delivering engaging, rigorous and values-driven instruction in History and Christian Religious Studies (CRS), developing learners who understand historical events, cultures, societies, religious principles and their relevance to contemporary life.
The role holder will foster critical thinking, empathy, ethical reasoning, effective communication and responsible citizenship, while preparing learners for internal and external examinations and contributing to their holistic development in line with the Wellspring Learner Profile.
Key Responsibilities
Teaching and Learning
- Plan and deliver high-quality History and CRS lessons in accordance with the approved curriculum and College schemes of work.
- Teach lessons that promote critical analysis, historical enquiry, interpretation, evaluation and independent thinking.
- Help learners understand historical events, personalities, movements, societies and their impact on present-day realities.
- Teach CRS in a manner that develops sound understanding of biblical teachings, Christian values, moral principles and their practical application.
- Use a variety of instructional strategies, including discussion, debates, source analysis, case studies, presentations, research and project-based learning.
- Connect classroom learning to contemporary social, cultural, ethical and civic issues where appropriate.
- Differentiate instruction to accommodate learners with varying abilities and learning needs.
- Integrate appropriate digital resources and technology to enrich teaching and learning.
- Create a classroom environment that encourages respectful dialogue and thoughtful engagement with diverse perspectives.
Assessment and Learner Progress
- Set and administer classwork, assignments, projects, tests, examinations and other appropriate assessments.
- Mark and moderate assessments accurately and provide timely, constructive feedback.
- Maintain accurate records of learner performance and progress.
- Analyse assessment data to identify learning gaps and implement appropriate interventions.
- Prepare learners effectively for standard internal and external examinations.
- Monitor individual learner progress and communicate significant concerns through the appropriate channels.
Learner Development and Pastoral Support
- Model the values and behaviours expected of a Wellspring Educator.
- Encourage learners to develop empathy, integrity, responsibility and respect for others.

Qualifications and Experience
Essential
- Bachelor’s Degree in History, Religious Studies, Christian Religious Studies, Education or a closely related discipline.
- Relevant teaching qualification such as PGDE, NCE or equivalent professional teaching qualification, where applicable.
- Minimum of 4 years’ relevant teaching experience, preferably in a reputable secondary school.
- Strong knowledge of the Nigerian secondary school curriculum.
- Demonstrable experience preparing learners for WAEC, NECO and other relevant examinations.
- Good knowledge of effective classroom management and learner-centred teaching practices.
Desirable
- Experience teaching both History and CRS at secondary school level.
- Experience in a high-performing or international-minded school environment.
- Relevant professional membership or certification.
- Demonstrable experience using digital learning tools and educational technology

Job Purpose
The Technical Drawing Teacher is responsible for delivering high-quality Technical Drawing instruction that develops learners’ technical knowledge, spatial reasoning, creativity, precision, critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
The role holder will create an engaging and practical learning environment that enables learners to interpret, construct and communicate technical ideas using appropriate drawing conventions, instruments, techniques and digital tools where applicable.
The teacher is also expected to contribute to the holistic development of learners in line with the Wellspring Learner and Educator Profiles, while modelling the College’s values of Excellence, Respect, Responsibility, Integrity, Innovation and Community.
Key Responsibilities
Teaching and Learning
- Plan and deliver effective Technical Drawing lessons in accordance with the approved curriculum and College schemes of work.
- Demonstrate correct use of drawing instruments, materials and techniques.
- Develop learners’ ability to visualize three-dimensional objects and represent them accurately in two-dimensional form.
- Incorporate practical activities, demonstrations, projects and problem-solving tasks into lessons.
- Differentiate instruction to meet the needs and abilities of individual learners.
- Integrate appropriate technology and digital drawing/design tools into teaching
- Maintain high academic and practical standards in line with the College’s commitment to excellence.

- Monitor the condition of equipment and promptly report damaged, missing or inadequate resources.
- Promote responsible use and care of College property among learners.
Learner Development and Pastoral Responsibilities
- Build positive, respectful and professional relationships with learners.

- Develop learners’ confidence, creativity, resilience and ability to solve problems independently.
