    Senior Research Analyst

    Role Description:

    • The Research Analyst will support the firm’s investment, advisory, and market intelligence activities by conducting rigorous financial, economic, industry, and company research. The role requires a highly analytical professional who can interpret complex data, identify trends, prepare insightful reports, and provide evidence-based recommendations to support strategic and investment decision-making.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Conduct in-depth research on financial markets, macroeconomic trends, sectors, companies, and investment opportunities.
    • Analyse financial statements, market data, valuation metrics, and economic indicators to generate actionable insights.
    • Develop financial models, forecasts, dashboards, and valuation analyses to support investment and advisory recommendations.
    • Prepare research reports, investment notes, market updates, presentations, and briefing documents for internal and external stakeholders.
    • Monitor industry developments, regulatory changes, competitor activity, and market risks relevant to the firm’s business areas.
    • Support due diligence processes by gathering, validating, and interpreting quantitative and qualitative information.
    • Work with portfolio, investment, advisory, business development, and management teams to provide timely research support.
    • Maintain databases, research files, and documentation to ensure accuracy, consistency, and accessibility of information.
    • Present research findings clearly and professionally to senior management, clients, and other stakeholders when required.

    Required Qualifications and Experience

    • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, Business Administration, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related discipline.
    • Minimum of 7 years’ experience in research, investment analysis, financial analysis, asset management, capital markets, consulting, or a related financial services role.
    • Strong understanding of financial markets, investment products, economic indicators, and business analysis.
    • Demonstrated ability to analyse financial statements and interpret quantitative and qualitative data.
    • Professional certifications or progress toward CFA, ACCA, ICAN, or other relevant qualifications will be an added advantage.

    Required Skills and Competencies

    • Excellent analytical, numerical, and problem-solving skills.
    • Strong research, data interpretation, and financial modelling capabilities.
    • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint; familiarity with Bloomberg, Refinitiv, Capital IQ, Power BI, SQL, or similar tools is an advantage.
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex information clearly.
    • Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and commitment to high-quality outputs.
    • Ability to work independently, manage multiple tasks, and meet tight deadlines.
    • High level of integrity, confidentiality, professionalism, and commercial awareness.

    Key Performance Indicators

    • Timeliness, accuracy, and relevance of research outputs.
    • Quality of financial models, market insights, and investment recommendations.
    • Effectiveness in supporting decision-making across investment, advisory, and business development activities.
    • Ability to identify emerging market trends, opportunities, and risks.
    • Stakeholder satisfaction with research reports, presentations, and analytical support.

    Advisory Analyst

    Responsibilities

    • Prepare proposals to clients for new business
    • Prepare returns to regulatory authorities
    • Master provisions of all relevant laws/regulations
    • Responsible for building and maintaining accurate investor and transaction databases
    • Handle day-to-day interface with clients and other parties involved in the department’s transactions.
    • Responsible for retrieving data from a wide variety of data sources and interpret and present accurate and dependable data
    • Responsible for developing sound, presentable models with integrity
    • Responsible for uploading financial data into model templates with minimal errors in line with standard financial principles & conventions
    • ECM and DCM valuation utilising various methodologies
    • Responsible for preparing pitch documents to prospective clients
    • Responsible for supervising proper filing records
    • Understanding of transaction timelines and deliverables
    • Ensure that transactions are executed in line with the relevant rules and regulations within the financial advisory internal procedures.
    • Assist with special ad-hoc projects, presentations and initiatives as assigned.

    Qualifications

    • 2-4 years’ experience in similar roles
    • First Degree from a reputable university
    • ICAN/ACCA/CFA certified
    • Good knowledge of the Nigerian Capital Market is essential
    • Proficient use of Microsoft Office Suite
    • Good presentation and communication skills

    Portfolio Manager

    Role Description

    • The Portfolio Manager is responsible for managing discretionary and non-discretionary investment portfolios in line with clients’ mandates, risk appetite, and regulatory requirements.

    Key Responsibilities:

    Portfolio Construction & Management

    • Develop and implement portfolio strategies aligned with clients’ investment objectives.
    • Conduct asset allocation across equities, fixed income, money market instruments, and alternative investments.
    • Monitor portfolio performance and rebalance portfolios in response to market movements and mandate guidelines.
    • Ensure portfolios remain within approved risk parameters and investment limits.
    • Oversee trade execution in collaboration with the dealing desk.

    Investment Research & Analysis

    • Conduct macroeconomic, sectoral, and company-specific research.
    • Prepare investment memos and recommendations for the Investment Committee.
    • Analyze financial statements, valuation metrics, and market trends.
    • Track global and local market developments and assess impact on portfolios.

    Risk Management & Compliance

    • Monitor portfolio risk exposures (market, credit, liquidity, and concentration risk).
    • Ensure compliance with SEC regulations and internal investment guidelines.
    • Prepare reports for internal risk committees and regulatory bodies.
    • Maintain accurate documentation of investment decisions.

    Client Engagement & Reporting

    • Participate in client meetings to explain portfolio strategy and performance.
    • Prepare quarterly and monthly portfolio performance reports.
    • Provide insights into the market outlook and investment positioning.

    Investment Committee Participation

    • Present research findings and portfolio updates.
    • Contribute to strategic asset allocation decisions.
    • Support development of new investment products.

    Qualifications & Experience

    • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in finance, economics, or related field. 
    • CFA or equivalent investment management professional certification preferred. 
    • 5–8 years’ experience in investment research and portfolio management. 
    • Strong knowledge of Nigerian and global macro environments. 
    • Skilled in fundamental analysis, financial modeling, and portfolio construction 
    • Solid understanding of investment theory, asset allocation and asset classes
    • Familiarity with SEC regulations and compliance requirements. 
    • Strong risk management awareness. 
    • Proven experience managing institutional and HNI portfolios. 
    • Proficient with Bloomberg. 
    • Excellent communication and presentation skills. 
    • Analytical and problem‑solving mindset. 
    • Proficient in MS Office.
