    Senior Operations Manager

    Core Purpose:

    • To lead the day-to-day administrative, academic support, ICT, facility, and student service operations of the Institute, while integrating commercial and business development strategies to drive institutional growth, financial sustainability, and operational excellence.

    Key Responsibilities & Deliverables

    • Institutional Operations & Academic Readiness: Coordinate daily operational workflows, develop academic/training calendars, eliminate service bottlenecks, and ensure classrooms, labs, and workshops are fully equipped.
    • Student Services & Quality Assurance: Oversee student onboarding, admissions, exam scheduling, retention tracking, and student complaint resolution.
    • Facilities & ICT Management: Oversee maintenance, physical security, asset tracking, and digital infrastructure/LMS uptime across the facility.
    • Business Development & Commercial Growth: Identify revenue streams through corporate training, professional certifications, and short courses; support sponsorship proposals and monitor B2B contract delivery.
    • Industry & Regulatory Engagement: Build partnerships with employers, manage MoUs, support graduate job placements, and ensure compliance with TVET regulatory bodies (e.g., NBTE).
    • People, Finance & Reporting: Manage operational budgets, supervise administrative/support staff, track KPIs, oversee procurement, and deliver operational performance reports to executive leadership.

    Candidate Requirements

    • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Management, Education, Engineering, or a related field (Master's / MBA is desirable).

    Experience (Mandatory):

    • 8–10 years of total experience, with at least 5+ years in a senior operational role specifically within a technology institute, TVET institution, polytechnic, technical college, or technical education environment.
    • Domain Expertise: Proven track record combining institutional/educational operations with commercial business development.
    • Preferred Background: Familiarity with NBTE accreditation processes, digital/ICT skills training, corporate learning environments, and professional certifications in project or operations management.

    Key Competencies:

    • Multidisciplinary team leadership, strategic budget management, high-level stakeholder engagement, and strong problem-solving agility.

    Chief Operating Officer (COO)

    Core Purpose:

    • To provide overall executive, operational, and commercial leadership for the Institute. The COO translates executive strategy into sustainable, scalable operations, owns the revenue and growth engine, and oversees cross-departmental execution across academic delivery, administration, financial management, and external partnerships.

    Key Responsibilities & Deliverables

    • Strategic & Operational Execution: Translate top-level goals into annual operational budgets, performance targets, and institution-wide KPIs, driving efficiency, scalability, and continuous process optimization.
    • Commercial Growth & Revenue Ownership: Own the Institute's revenue strategy across B2B corporate training, industry certifications, and vocational skills programs; lead high-value commercial negotiations and approve strategic proposals.
    • Academic & Regulatory Oversight: Partner with academic leadership and regulatory bodies (e.g., NBTE) to drive institutional accreditation, maintain quality assurance standards, and launch market-aligned curricula.
    • Financial & Resource Management: Oversee operational and capital expenditure (OpEx/CapEx) alongside Finance, optimize resource allocation, and direct strategic procurement/vendor agreements.
    • Governance, Risk & Stakeholder Leadership: Direct institutional risk management, crisis response, and regulatory compliance; represent the Institute in high-level engagements with government agencies, industry leaders, and corporate sponsors; report performance directly to the CEO/Board.

    Candidate Requirements

    • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Management, Engineering, or Education Management; an MBA or relevant Master’s degree is strongly preferred.
    • Executive Experience (Mandatory): 12–15+ years of progressive leadership experience, including 5+ years in a senior executive or COO-level role within a technology institute, TVET institution, polytechnic, technical college, or comparable technical education environment.
    • Track Record: Proven P&L or major budget ownership, demonstrated commercial business development success, and experience managing executive/multidisciplinary leadership teams.
    • Preferred Qualifications: Board-level reporting experience, a background scaling operations in high-growth/tech environments, deep familiarity with NBTE accreditation, and professional certifications in executive strategy or operations management.
