    Research Analyst

    Job Description

    • Provide support to all research studies and prepare information brochures and required materials for all prospective investors.
    • Maintain databases and analyze all market intelligence programs.
    • Prepare various capital market reports on a weekly and monthly basis.
    • Oversee data collection, and analysis for research studies, surveys and strategic plan reviews
    • Prepare and submit reports and presentations for research studies, surveys and investor/issuer/policy makers’ education and outreach campaigns
    • Write research papers / articles on various aspects of the capital markets for journals, newspapers and other print media.
    • Make presentations to various forums e.g. investors, market intermediaries, policy makers / line ministry, financial sector regulators, trade/professional associations, professional bodies and issuers when called upon
    • Collect data on consumers, competitors and market place and consolidate information into actionable items, reports and presentations
    • Provide competitive analysis on various companies’ market offerings; identify market trends, pricing / business models, sales and methods of operation
    • Remain fully informed on market trends, other parties’ researches and implement best practices
    • To maintain confidentiality and observe data protection and associated guidelines where appropriate.
    • Take on any other assignments as may be directed by the Company/Department.

    Qualifications

    • University Degree / HND in Statistics, Finance, Economics or related field;
    • Possession of a postgraduate academic or professional qualification in a relevant discipline will be an added advantage;
    • Minimum of 5+ years of work experience;
    • Knowledge of Bloomberg, Reuters and other financial information platforms is a plus.

    Job Description
    Trading:

    • Trading and Execution of customers’ mandate
    • Execution of client’s mandate in line with instructions in a timely manner ‘
    • Execution of client’s trade in an error free manner
    • Best execution at least 65% of time (getting best possible prices (buy/sell transactions)
    • Prompt communication of adverse price movement, market information, exceptional demand/supply or other factors to RMs, CSU or client, especially as it relates with current market order;
    • Prompt communication of relevant market news and information to necessary channels – CSU, Research, Client, Investment Management team;

    Proprietary Trading:

    • Prompt and effective treatment of investment decisions
    • Prompt review/analysis of market trend vis a vis investment decision
    • Prompt reporting of adverse movement of price, market trend and
    • Regular review of Proprietary book and effective trading to maximize gains
    • Providing strategic insight to market trends, stock to watch which is required to maximize portfolio returns;

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Economics, Statistics, Accounting, or Business Administration.
    • Minimum of 3 years relevant trading experience.
    • Registration as a sponsored individual with the Securities and Exchange Commission.
    • Associate Member Chartered Institute of Stock Brokers.

    Core Competencies:

    • A general knowledge and understanding of the Nigerian Capital market.
    • Excellent interpersonal skills with good communication and analytical skills.
    • Proficient use of Microsoft office (word, Excel, Power point).

    Compliance Officer

    Job Description

    • Keep the business abreast of any regulatory developments and industry best practices and assessing the impact on current procedures, as well as ensuring that necessary changes are implemented
    • Develop and implement an Annual Compliance plan.
    • Liaise with Industry Regulators and other agencies and respond to regulatory enquires, findings and deficiencies.
    • Carry out Compliance reviews and Compliance monitoring activities.
    • Monitor the resolution of Clients’ complaints.
    • Provide assistant to respective units for purpose of compliance with applicable statutory, regulatory and supervisory requirements.
    • Ensure no fine/censure from Regulatory authorities.
    • Improvement in the compliance culture, enterprise-wide

    Qualifications

    • Candidates should possess a Bachelor's Degree, HND
    • Minimum of 4 years relevant experience in Capital Market.
    • Registration as a sponsored individual with the Securities and Exchange Commission.
    • A professional qualification is desirable.
    • Law Degree is an added advantage.

    Core Competencies:

    • A general knowledge and understanding of the Nigerian Capital market.
    • General familiarity with laws and regulations governing financial institutions.
    • In-depth knowledge of the legislation, rules and regulations which relates to financial services, especially Nigerian Capital Market.
    • Technical proficiency in the development and implementation of Compliance programmes.
    • Ability to provide technical guidance and direction in Compliance as relates to financial services, especially Capital markets.
    • Ability to engage with regulators and law enforcement agents.
    • Effective communication, organizational and time management skills.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Applications.
    • Business Awareness.
