    Reconciliation Officer

    Job Summary 

    The officer will be responsible for ensuring accuracy, completeness and reliability of transactions reconcilied from bank statements to mutual funds, institutional schemes, portfolios and third party clients on core applications

    Principal Duties or Responsibilities

    • Perform daily review of bank statements to identify outstanding transactions and ensure resolution of reconciling items between the bank statements and the core applications.
    • Ensure that all transactions on behalf of clients are properly recorded and captured in the relevant core applications by carrying out daily reviews.  
    • Ensure that all adjusting items such as bank charges are booked timely in the fund/portfolio management application. 
    • Reconcile all cash transactions and investments in equities and fixed income instruments – such as money market and bond instruments for mutual funds, institutional schemes, portfolios and thiird party clients . 
    • Escalate exceptional or aged items to the Portfolio Managers, Retail Operations, Fund Administration, Fund  Accounts and Treasury teams to ensure timely implementation of remedial actions to address identified exceptions.
    • Escalate instances of persistent internal control issues to Supervisor.  
    • Create and update an issue log report periodically when there is any reconciliation gap. Follow through with the resolution of the gaps and provide relevant documentation on the resolutions.
    • Document and provide input for monthly reports to management on identified control gaps and key exceptions with needed process improvement opportunities.  

    Competency and Skill Requirements

    • Good financial accounting and reporting skill
    • Good knowledge of MS Excel and other MS Office Applications
    • Team player
    • Good communication skills (oral & written)

    Minimum Qualifications

    • Demonstrate good knowledge of accounting principles, financial markets and instruments (Preferably an accounting graduate)
    • A minimum of 2 years accounting experience.

    Team Lead, Financial Advisory

    Description

    • Responsible for execution of financial advisory and structure finance transaction mandates in order to meet clients’ needs, as well as the Group’s performance targets.
    • Strengthen the Department’s structured finance, project finance, M & A advisory capability
    • Conduct necessary industry/company research and analysis on key subjects for inclusion in proposals
    • Oversee preparation of proposals / pitch documents for prospective transactions based on agreed strategies
    • Identify economic, sectorial and regulatory reforms likely to create opportunities for new transactions.
    • Engage with prospective Clients and design transaction structures based on Client’s need and financial/legal position, legal/regulatory requirements as well as market conditions;
    • Spearhead the team in advising clients on transaction process, regulatory requirements, documentation, appointment of parties, etc.
    • Prepare appropriate transaction documents such as financial models, prospectuses, investment teasers, information memoranda, Scheme documents, status reports and correspondences
    • Handle and manage due diligence process on advisory and M&A transactions
    • Analyse target companies; perform financial analysis and in-depth reviews, merger impact analysis, and prepare financial and valuation models.
    • Supervise or work with appointed professional parties (if any) on relevant transactions
    • Ensure timely execution of transactions and collection of professional fees.

    Requirements

    • Possess a Bachelor’s Degree in a numerate discipline
    • A postgraduate degree or professional qualification (CFA, ACCA, ACA) will be added advantage.
    • Minimum of 6 - 8 years of work experience in a similar role in a Big 4 firm, investment bank or consulting firm will be a plus.
    • Detail oriented, good with numbers and competitive, experience with financial modeling and valuation
    • Expertise in Microsoft Excel and Powerpoint, teachable, and a quick learner. Communication to others will be a key part of this role, which requires collaboration.

    Head, Research

    Job Objective(s)

    • The Position Holder is responsible for providing oversight over the research / analysis of securities data target industries, markets, and capital markets, with the aim of providing own audience with a robust evidence-base in making investment decisions.

    Duties and Responsibilities

    • Research: Oversees the collection of market data & trend-spotting on various classes of security instruments, and their transformation into actionable information through fundamental, technical, and quantitative analysis, presented in periodic research notes with the aim of supporting investment decision-making by both internal teams (i.e. client relations, & proprietary trading desks), and the company’s clientele (retail and institutional). The Position Holder is also responsible for providing analytical support in the production, and maintenance of marketing collaterals for the securities business.
    • Portfolio Optimization: Lead detailed, and extensive analysis of investment portfolios to both internal teams, and the company’s clientele with the aim of driving their effective decision-making in deriving maximum return, and minimizing costs like financial costs within the context of constraints such as regulations, taxes, and transaction costs.
    • Support Business Development Activities: Develop customized marketing documents, and research for the purpose of sales pitches to prospective institutional clients. The Position Holder is also expected to actively participate in the firm’s sales roadshows to both local, and foreign institutional clients, as well as in presentations to clients.
    • Strategic Initiatives: Responsible for driving the implementation of strategic initiatives that sustain / improve the organization’s competitive advantage within its operating environment.
    • Product Development: Contribute to the creation, or modification the company’s product offerings with the objective of providing new or additional benefits to customers, as well as enhancing the company’s competitiveness and market dominance.
    • Supports Team’s Development: Provides advice, guidance, and assistance to less experienced colleagues as required.

    • To develop new business relationships with HNI &UHNI segments through professional, social and personal networks and in line with the Company’s wealth management strategy in order to increase Company’s market share of the wealth management business.
    • The Position Holder is responsible for acquiring and maintaining high-value business relationships across focus market segments of institutional, HNI &UHNI segments through the provision of superior investment advice to clientele, optimal structuring of their portfolio to meet both their short to long-term objectives, with the aim of driving FUM growth, achieving set business targets, and overall client satisfaction.

    • Applying advanced knowledge of financial products, services, and strategies to provide a holistic advice. The financial products include traditional and non-traditional investment such as:
      • Diversified Array of Mutual funds
      • Local & Offshore Equities and Fixed Income Investments
      • Customized Portfolio Management Services
      • Specialized Funds i.e. Private Equity, Hospitality and Retail & Infrastructure Funds

    • Conducting comprehensive reviews to analyze financial data and provide recommendations for modifications based on client's risk tolerance, goals, objectives and individual preferences
    • Transfer market and specific client knowledge to Relationship Managers and other relevant internal stakeholders that would enhance client relationships
    • Work closely with Product Specialists across the Group and Relationship Managers to sell products and services of the Group
    • Act as a good ambassador of the Firm through proper conduct at all times.

    Requirements
    Experience:

    • Minimum of 4 - 6 years of professional working experience in the financial service industry
    • Relevant experience in Investment/Wealth Management or Financial Services
    • Strong business acumen to be able to recognize and interpret commercial opportunities
    • Must have demonstrated ability to create sales/relationship opportunities with clients, prospects and consultants within the institutional segment
    • Must have excellent presentation skills and in-depth product and broad investment knowledge
    • Familiarity and existing relationships with local and offshore institutional mandates.
    • Ability to quickly comprehend and filter complex information. This is often required within a short timeframe, as clients will generally look to you for input on a wide range of topics, some of which will be time-sensitive and may be confidential.
