    R&D Prototyping Technician - Kano

    About the role

    • BURN is seeking an R&D Prototyping Technician to support the development and refining of innovative products that drive our mission of providing clean cooking solutions. This role is critical in turning ideas into tangible prototypes, enabling rapid testing and iteration to meet user needs and market demands. The technician will collaborate with engineers and designers, utilizing advanced tools and techniques to ensure precision, quality, and functionality in every prototype. By joining our R&D team, the technician will play a key role in advancing product innovation and maintaining BURN’s leadership in the clean energy sector.

    Duties and Responsibilities

    • Collaborate with product engineers to implement design changes and improvements on stoves.
    • Build and assemble sheet metal stove prototypes.
    • Perform on-site and in-factory repairs and maintenance on test/pilot stoves as required.
    • Perform simple CAD editing and reviewing before prototyping.
    • Manage and prepare materials for laser cutting and prototyping.
    • Conduct thorough inspections of laser-cut parts to ensure they meet design standards, adjusting as necessary as instructed by the product engineer.
    • Assist the team with stove user placements.
    • Product documentation of prototypes developed.
    • Perform any additional tasks or assignments delegated by the product engineer.

    Skills and Experience

    • Proficiency in building and assembling sheet metal prototypes.
    • Ability to perform on-site and in-factory repairs and maintenance.
    • Proficient CAD editing and reviewing skills.
    • Experience operating and managing laser-cutting machines.
    • Strong attention to detail.
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

    Quality Inspector - Kano

    About the role

    • Burn is looking for a Quality Inspector who will be responsible for reviewing products and materials during manufacturing to make sure they meet company requirements. This individual will be tasked with measuring objects compared to their intended physical specifications, running quality tests, and identifying defects.

    Duties and Responsibilities

    • Check, Inspect and analyze products against specifications.
    • Measure and record quality within the production Floor.
    • Collect and record data on the production floor.
    • Work with quality analyst in spec sheet development and implementation.
    • Write Daily reports.
    • Escalate issues on the production floor to shift team leader.
    • Performs any other duty as assigned by the QA team leader from time to time.
    • Excellent attention to detail.

    Skills and Experience

    • B.Sc./HND. in Engineering (Mechanical, Metallurgical, or Chemical): D.
    • B.Sc. Chemistry, Biochemistry: D.
    • At least 2 years experience as a quality inspector
    • Analytical and problem-solving skills
    • Attention to detail
    • Technical skills and ability to understand blueprints, documents, and manuals
    • Thorough knowledge of quality control standards and testing methodologies
