    Programme Associate

    Job Summary

    We are looking to recruit a detail-oriented and results-driven Programme Associate to join our Startup Support Unit. In this role, you will play a key part in providing proactive support to innovators building solutions to address key challenges in our society. The Programme Associate will assist in developing and overseeing the delivery of different incubation, acceleration and post-acceleration support for innovators. The person in this role will work day-to-day with high growth entrepreneurs across the continent to build global sustainable businesses. 

    • Support with designing, planning, and executing startup support programmes and projects including developing the work plans, scouting and selecting strong cohort members, managing incubation, accelerator, and post-accelerator programs. 
    • Support in developing performance metrics for programmes, monitor to measure and track progress, and fulfilling reporting requirements of funding agencies and stakeholders. 
    • Work with other units within CcHUB to provide adequate support to ventures in active programmes and alumni network. 
    • Actively support in identifying professionals, experts, academics, and researchers who could join the CcHUB expert network to provide mentoring and advisory support to startups in assigned portfolios and across projects/programmes. 
    • Manage communication between startups and the unit as well as provide monthly progress reports on startups to key officers for prompt decision- making. 
    • Support and provide guidance to the Communications team to disseminate engaging and impactful content highlighting CcHUB startup programmes and beneficiary success stories (e.g. programme highlights, interviews, alumni startup spotlights, thought leadership content, etc.) 
    • Ensure well-targeted implementation of communication and outreach activities. 
    • Actively support the preparation and development of concept notes and proposal write-ups. 


    • An educational background in Technology, Engineering, and/or Business-related fields.
    • Minimum of 2+ years experience in programme/project management in the startup space, enterprise development or consulting experience. 
    • Project Management certification is a plus. 
    • Passionate about technology, startups, innovation, with an understanding of the technology ecosystem
    • Entrepreneurial experience or experience working in a startup environment with demonstrated understanding of the technology and startup support ecosystem. 
    • Creative problem solver with excellent verbal and written communication skills 
    • Organized, resourceful, able to take initiative and make sound decisions 
    • Proven ability to nurture, support, and grow a vibrant community 
    • Ability to work well in a team and can individually prioritize multiple tasks while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail 
    • Proficient knowledge of Microsoft and Google suites

    Portfolio Manager

    Job Description
    Portfolio Management:

    • Assess portfolio company needs and develop a plan for post-investment support
    • Play an active role in the strategy and direction of portfolio companies
    • Working closely with the investments lead to manage relationships with the portfolio companies.
    • Design reporting structure and support portfolio companies to improve reporting framework and optimize operational processes
    • Liaise with portfolio companies on an ongoing basis to ensure monthly financial and KPI data is relevant and in line with budget
    • Provide financial analysis and support to ad hoc value enhancement projects
    • Collect and analyze investment portfolio data to monitor investment returns, risk levels and propose strategies to mitigate risk.
    • Monitor and report country risk in assigned investment geographies.
    • Provide fundraising support to portfolio companies
    • Coordinate impact assessment of portfolio companies in collaboration with the investments and research team.

    Due Diligence:

    • Support investments team in carrying out due diligence and investment appraisals, including financial modeling, valuation review and structuring
    • Support the investments team in preparing investment documentation


    • 4 years of experience at a leading consulting, private equity, investment banking or venture capital firm
    • Demonstrated business judgment and project management skills
    • Has an in-depth understanding of competitive market environments, inclusive sub-sector development and value chain/market systems development
    • Strong leadership, interpersonal, management, organizational and communication skills
    • Previous track record of operational/reporting improvement
    • Excellent MS Excel modelling and MS PowerPoint skills
    • A strong academic background and should have a professional qualification or has made steps towards receiving other such qualification
