    Medical Sonographer

    Responsibilities
    Provide Services as follows:

    • Observe screen during scan to ensure that image produced is satisfactory for diagnostic purposes, making adjustments to equipment as required.
    • Observe and care for patients throughout examinations to ensure their safety and comfort.
    • Provide sonogram and written summary of technical findings to physician for use in medical diagnosis.
    • Operate ultrasound equipment to produce and record images of the motion, shape and composition of blood, organs, tissues and bodily masses such as fluid accumulations.
    • Select appropriate equipment settings and adjust patient positions to obtain the best sites and angles.
    • Determine whether scope of exam should be extended, based on findings.
    • Obtain and record accurate patient history, including prior test results and information from physical examinations.
    • Prepare patient for examination by explaining procedure, transferring them to ultrasound table, scrubbing skin and applying gel, and positioning them properly.
    • Record and store suitable images, using camera unit connected to the ultrasound equipment.
    • Maintain records that include patient information, sonographs and interpretations, files of correspondence, publications and regulations, and quality assurance records (e.g., pathology, biopsy, post-operative reports).
    • Maintain stock and supplies, preparing supplies for special examinations and ordering supplies when necessary.
    • Clean, check and maintain sonographic equipment, submitting maintenance requests or performing minor repairs as necessary.
    • Perform clerical duties such as typing of report findings.

    Qualifications

    • A good Degree or equivalent in Radiography
    • 2 years working experience
    • Must be registered with Radiographers Registration Board of Nigeria
    • Must have a postgraduate Diploma in Ultrasonography
    • Computer literacy
    • Good communication Skills
    • Excellent organizational skills
    • Excellent interpersonal skills
    • Good knowledge in the use of MS Word & Excel

    Medical Officer

    Job Description

    • Prescribe or administer treatment, therapy, medication, vaccination, and other specialized medical care to treat or prevent illness, disease, or injury
    • Order, perform,interpret tests/reports, and other examinationsto diagnose patients' condition.
    • Monitor patients' conditions and progress and reevaluate treatments as necessary.
    • Explain procedures and discuss test results or prescribed treatments with patients.
    • Advise patients and community members concerning diet, activity, hygiene, and disease prevention.
    • Refer patients to medical specialists or other practitioners when necessary.
    • Provide medical support to midwives in the delivery of babies.
    • Execute minor surgical procedures on patients to remove, repair, or improve functioning of diseased or injured body parts and systems.
    • To provide quality medical care to patients
    • Ensure comprehensive, accurate and concise medical records are collected and maintained for patients with an appropriate signature.
    • Participate in clinical audit and quality programs as appropriate. etc

    Job Requirements

    • MBBS or equivalent
    • Experience: at least 1 year post NYSC work experience
    • Must possess a valid practicing license with the Medical and Dental Council of Nigeria.
    • Proficiency with the use of EMR
    • Basic Surgical Skills.
    • Must possess NYSC discharge Certificate or Exemption letter.
    • Must be familiar with the operation of HMOs/NHIS
    • Excellent problem-solving and clinical decision-making skills.
    • Good time management and organizational skills.
