    Medical Doctor

    Job Description

    • The clinical services department ensures delivery of high quality medical and laboratory services that are patient centered in order to ensure optimal health and well being for patients achieving the organization’s mission and vision.
    • The Medical Doctor will perform a range of functions including but not limited to; initial history taking, clinical assessments, diagnosis, treatment, and evaluation of care.
    • S/he must demonstrate critical thinking in the clinical decision-making process, especially in assessing and diagnosing patients, leading to the delivery of safe care for all patients.
    • The successful candidate will work collaboratively with the healthcare team and the Management Team to meet the needs of the patients, supporting the delivery of policy and procedures.
    • The Medical Doctor will also review and act appropriately on blood results and referrals/correspondence regarding patients.
    • In addition, S/he will be expected to occasionally carry out some home visits to patients registered on the Membership Scheme.

    Responsibilities
    Purpose:

    • Conduct telemedicine consultations which may involve discussing results and implications of laboratory investigations with patients as well as dealing appropriately with routine and emergency complaints.
    • Determine diagnosis and treatment plans, in consultation with patient(s) or referring to Supervising doctor(s) as appropriate. Conduct and oversee clinical care to patients using established clinical guidelines.
    • Interview patients, take medical histories, perform physical examinations, analyze,determine, diagnose and explain medical problems during surgery consultations and home visits.
    • Participate and oversee all treatment and preventative healthcare services as delegated and agreed upon by the supervising Practice Manager(s). Assist in clinical instruction and supervision of medical and nursing staff as well as other interns/student doctors.                        

    Engagement:

    • Provide and explain clinical instructions to the nursing staff and other clinical care teams as required. Communicate when necessary with colleagues in Clinical care and hospital specialists in order to discuss or refer specific patients, plan and coordinate activities, or exchange information.
    • Communicate where necessary with colleagues in Clinical care and hospital specialists to discuss or recommend referring specific patients, plan and coordinate activities, or exchange information to improve the quality of patient care. 
    • Identify and liaise regularly with community hospitals, consultants, and other health care providers, insurance companies, and other community organizations to refer/consult on specific cases, participate in community service and education projects and activities.
    • Recommend direct clinical care to patients using established clinical guidelines. Interview patients, take medical histories, perform physical examinations, analyze, diagnose, and explain medical problems during surgery consultations and home visits.

    Delivery:

    • Fully document all aspects of patient care, reconcile and complete all required paperwork for legal and administrative purposes. Attend regular educational meetings organized by the practice in order to clinical knowledge, practice policy and guidelines timely
    • Contribute to clinical development by developing a special interest and help to establish appropriate systems to manage common chronic medical conditions, ensuring compliance with approved standard treatment guidelines.
    • Support and Sustain clinical research and efforts within the EHA Clinics leading to the publication of papers.

    Requirements 

    • Degree In Medicine - MBBS, MbChB, MD, DO in any Global, National, or State recognized University and conforming to the guidelines as set out by the Medical and Dental Association of Nigeria.
    • Completion of compulsory internship and a minimum of post NYSC. 
    • Up-to-date registration and license from the MDCN
    • Completion of BLS, ACLS.

    Remuneration
    N355, 600 monthly gross.

    • Identify key issues in project and execution in the laboratory which lead to the successful attainment of objectives. Participate in assigned research projects.
    • Initiate new ideas for expansion of services.
    • Contributes to a safe and secure environment for patients, visitors, physicians, and co-workers by following and ensuring team members follow established standards, procedures and complying with legal regulations.

    Engagement:

    Targeted Specializes Knowledge

    • A minimum Bachelor of Science degree in laboratory science from an accredited university.
    • Must possess a valid practice Licence
    • Minimum 3 years experience in a regulated clinical laboratory is required.
    • Minimum 1 year of supervisory experience is desirable.
    • Candidates must possess a current practising licence and be a member of the Association of Medical Laboratory Science Council of Nigeria.
    • Additional training and experience in laboratory quality management systems is desirable

    Practice & Quality Assurance Coordinator (REACH)

    Mission Objective

    • The REACH program is dedicated to closing healthcare gaps by bringing quality and affordable services directly to communities. 
    • The REACH Practice and Quality Assurance Coordinator is responsible for coordinating and overseeing daily administrative activities of the clinic to ensure compassionate, effective, and efficient delivery of high-quality care for patients. S/he is responsible for the supervision of all employed support staff.
    • S/he is responsible to ensure the overall smooth day-to-day operations, and employee engagement.
    • S/He is additionally responsible for assisting the REACH Program Manager to achieve departmental and organisational goals.

    Duties and Responsibilities
    Purpose:

    • Develop medical policies and procedures and monitor adherence. Assess trends in the health care needs of clients in order to effectively develop new and existing medical services. Contribute to the operation and running of any research projects by providing clinical advice.
    • Review medical KPIs and OKRs regularly. Provide ongoing advice and consultation to clinical staff.
    • Organise and assign duties and tasks to clinical team members. Evaluate team activities, needs, and problems on a daily or as-needed basis. Oversee staff schedules for productivity and adequate staffing levels.
    • Evaluate performance of clinical team members and conduct performance evaluations. Supervise and coordinate the delivery of patient care and onboarding of new staff. Conduct face-to-face medical consultations and provide clinical support remotely.           

    Engagement:

    • Conduct periodic staff meetings with clinical team members. Effectively present data and information to the Management team Resolve complaints in a diplomatic and timely manner. Identify and recommend solutions to team and office issues.
    • Coordinate and assist in the delivery of healthcare with all members of the health team. Provide clinical input for new business development opportunities.

    Delivery:

    • Evaluate the quality and appropriateness of medical care and documentation. Regularly review medical KPIs and OKRs for quality assurance.

    Targeted Specialized Knowledge

    • Provide pharmaceutical care services which may include, but are not limited to, patient needs assessment, age and disease-specific drug therapy and patient education, care adjustments based on patient response, and clinical interventions to identify, minimize, and avoid adverse drug reactions.

    Delivery:

    • Prepare and dispense medications to patients on physician’s order. Organize the pharmacy in an efficient manner to make the identification of products easier and faster.
    • Maintain an up-to-date inventory of the clinic drug formulary. Records of all drugs, doses, and prices on the automated inventory of the clinic. Review, analyze and respond to different situations encountered daily.
    • Review and execute physician’s prescriptions checking their appropriateness and legality. Maintain full control over delivering, stocking, and labeling medicine and other products. Develop effective medication plans to minimize the risk of adverse side effects.
    • Maintain pharmacological knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; and participating in professional societies.

    Targeted Specializes Knowledge

    • Minimum qualification of Bachelor's degree in Pharmacy/M.Pharm/PharmD Minimum of two (2) years post NYSC progressive experience in Pharmacy within the private and public sector.
    • Experience working with public health and health systems is an advantage.
    • Candidates must be a registered member of Pharmacists Council of Nigeria (PCN) with an up-to-date practicing license.
