    Mechanical / Electrical Engineer

    Role Summary

    • The M&E Engineer oversees the design, installation, and optimization of mechanical (HVAC, plumbing, fire suppression) and electrical (power distribution, lighting, controls) infrastructure.
    • This role bridges the gap between hardware and electronic control to ensure operational efficiency, safety compliance, and system reliability.

    Key Responsibilities

    • System Design & Documentation: Develop detailed 2D/3D CAD models, electrical schematics, and piping layouts for integrated systems.
    • Installation Oversight: Coordinate with contractors to supervise the installation of HVAC, power distribution units, and industrial machinery.
    • Troubleshooting & Repair: Diagnose complex malfunctions involving mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic components to minimize downtime.
    • Project Management: Manage project lifecycles, including budgeting, resource allocation, and meeting strict delivery timelines.
    • Compliance & Safety: Enforce industry standards (e.g., NEC, NFPA, ASHRAE) and conduct rigorous safety risk assessments.
    • Performance Optimization: Identify and implement energy-efficient technologies or automation to reduce operational costs.

    Job Requirements

    • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering (Master's preferred).
    • Experience: 2-5 years in M&E system design, construction or facility management.
    • Certifications: Professional Engineer (PE) license or industry-specific certifications (e.g., CEM for Energy Management) is an added advantage.
    • Location: Based at the project sites.

    Technical Proficiency:

    • Software: Expert-level knowledge of AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or Revit.
    • Systems: Hands-on experience with PLCs (Siemens/Allen-Bradley), HVAC, and power distribution.
    • Soft Skills: Strong analytical problem-solving, project management, and the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.

    Project Engineer

    Role Summary

    • As a Project Engineer, you will be responsible for the strategic planning, coordination, and monitoring of construction project activities.
    • You will serve as the technical bridge between management and site teams, ensuring that all works align with approved engineering drawings, budgets, and timelines.
    • This position requires a professional with strong planning abilities, technical documentation skills, and the capacity to coordinate multi-disciplinary stakeholders effectively.

    Key Responsibilities
    Project Planning & Coordination:

    • Develop comprehensive project work plans, execution strategies, and construction schedules in collaboration with Project Managers.
    • Deconstruct project scopes into clear phases, tasks, milestones, and deliverables.
    • Monitor project timelines continuously to identify and mitigate resource constraints or delays.

    Technical Documentation & Drawings:

    • Conduct rigorous reviews of engineering drawings, Bills of Quantities (BOQs), and design specifications.
    • Prepare and manage Requests for Information (RFIs) and technical queries directed at architects or consultants.
    • Maintain and control the distribution of the latest approved construction drawings and site instructions.

    Cost & Resource Management:

    • Assist in budgeting, preliminary quantity take-offs, and rigorous cost tracking.
    • Coordinate the procurement of materials based on approved BOQs and project schedules.
    • Validate all supplier quotes against technical specifications to ensure value and compliance.

    Quality Assurance & Standards:

    • Enforce strict adherence to engineering standards, building codes, and project-specific technical requirements.
    • Review and approve material quality submissions, samples, and test results before site application.
    • Perform periodic site inspections with Site Engineers to verify that "as-built" progress matches approved designs.

    Site Support & Reporting:

    • Provide technical guidance to Site Engineers regarding construction sequencing, methodology, and design interpretation.
    • Resolve technical site issues in real-time and coordinate all testing and commissioning procedures.
    • Prepare and submit weekly and monthly project progress reports and maintain project dashboards.

    Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
    Your performance will be measured against the following targets:

    • Schedule Compliance: ≥ 90% of project milestones achieved within planned timelines.
    • Cost Control: Maintain a variance of <5% between planned budgets and actual costs.
    • Technical Turnaround: Process RFIs, drawing reviews, and technical submissions within 48–72 hours.
    • Quality Compliance: ≤ 2 major non-conformities identified during monthly technical inspections.
    • Documentation Accuracy: 100% of construction drawings on-site must be the latest approved revisions.

    Requirements

    • Education: BSc or HND in Civil Engineering, Building Technology, or a related field.
    • Experience: 3–5 years of verifiable experience in project engineering or site management.
    • Certifications: Additional professional certifications (e.g., COREN, PMP, or HSE) are a significant advantage.
    • Location: Ability to work on-site at various project locations in Lagos.

    Civil Engineer (Graduate Trainee)

    Role Summary

    • As a Graduate Trainee Civil Engineer, you will support the senior engineering team in the daily execution and monitoring of construction activities.
    • You will be responsible for assisting with site measurements, maintaining accurate project logs, and ensuring that works are carried out in alignment with approved drawings and safety protocols.
    • This position offers intensive on-site exposure and the opportunity to develop core competencies in Nigerian construction standards and project management.

    Key Responsibilities
    Site Assistance & Supervision:

    • Support Site Engineers in supervising daily construction tasks to ensure they follow approved sequences.
    • Assist in setting out works and verifying basic dimensions against latest approved construction drawings.
    • Monitor labor productivity and help coordinate subcontractor activities on-site.

    Quality & Technical Support:

    • Assist in conducting basic site inspections to identify visible non-conformities.
    • Help collect material samples for testing (e.g., concrete cubes) and document test results.
    • Ensure that only approved materials are being utilized for site works.

    HSE Compliance:

    • Assist in enforcing Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) protocols among site workers.
    • Report any identified site risks or safety violations to the Site Engineer immediately.

    Documentation & Resource Tracking:

    • Maintain the daily site diary, recording weather, labor headcount, and progress milestones.
    • Track daily material deliveries and consumption to help prevent shortages.
    • Help maintain an organized file of site instructions and approved drawing revisions.

    Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)

    • Learning & Adaptation: Successful completion of assigned technical training modules within the first 3 months.
    • Documentation Accuracy: 100% accuracy in daily site logs and material tracking records.
    • Safety Support: Zero safety incidents resulting from failure to report a known hazard.
    • Technical Support: Providing 100% assistance in verifying dimensions for all assigned site sections.

    Requirements

    • Education: BSc or HND in Civil Engineering or Building Technology.
    • Experience: 0–1 year of experience (National Youth Service Corps - NYSC members are encouraged to apply).
    • Certifications: Relevant student or graduate memberships in professional bodies (e.g., NSE, COREN) are an advantage.
    • Location: Ability to work on-site in Lagos.
