    MEAL and CFM Assistant

    Job Description

    • The MEAL/CFM Assistant plays a pivotal role in overseeing and executing monitoring, evaluation, and Complaint and Feedback mechanism activities for the project.
    • Directly Reporting to the MEAL Manager with Indirect Report to the Program Manager, the MEAL/CFM Assistant is responsible for implementing and managing MEAL strategies and contributing to the development and operationalization of the project's MEAL system.
    • This role requires a comprehensive understanding of MEAL concepts, qualitative and quantitative techniques, data analysis, reporting, and training.

    Responsibilities

    • Developing and Operationalizing the Project MEAL System:
    • Interpret Results Framework, MEAL Framework, and Indicator Performance Tracking Table (IPTT).
    • Contribute to project design by determining activities, processes, outputs, outcomes, and impact.
    • Collaborate with the MEAL Manager to identify and detail key monitoring and evaluation activities.
    • Work with the MEAL Manager to develop appropriate reporting and planning tools that enhance program efficiency/effectiveness.
    • Lead the training of field staff on data gathering and compilation techniques.

    Research Skills:

    • Develop terms of reference for research/assessment initiatives using appropriate sampling techniques.
    • Supervise and use qualitative tools like interviews and focus groups.
    • Guide discussions with structured outlines for effective qualitative data collection.
    • Ensure enhanced data quality throughout information gathering and processing, including quantitative data collection oversight and survey testing and training.

    Data Management, Analysis, and Reporting:

    • Proficiently manage electronic and manual data entry processes as well as the organization of data in Microsoft Excel.
    • Manage project participants’ data ensuring compliance with all ethical standards and data protection policies.
    • Conduct thorough quantitative analysis using intermediate to advanced Excel skills, including central tendency and measures of spread.
    • Skillfully create narrative reports, utilize tables and graphs to create visually impressive dashboards, and provide data-driven insights to MACI management and stakeholders.
    • Prepare and provide timely reports that meet donor’s information requirements.

    Data Quality Assessment

    • Implement robust data quality assessment protocols for all data collection activities.
    • Regularly monitor and verify data accuracy, consistency, and completeness.
    • Collaborate with field staff to address data discrepancies and inconsistencies promptly.
    • Develop and maintain data quality assurance plans to uphold high standards across projects.
    • Provide recommendations and actions for improving data quality based on assessment findings.

    Accountability:

    • Utilize participatory approaches to identify beneficiary-preferred feedback mechanisms, ensuring inclusivity and accessibility.
    • Design and implement robust Complaints and Feedback Systems to engage beneficiaries and stakeholders in providing input and addressing concerns.
    • Establish channels for both downward and upward accountability, fostering transparency and responsiveness.
    • Analyze and synthesize feedback collected from participants to inform strategic decision-making and program enhancements.
    • Continuously assess and improve the effectiveness of the Complaints and Feedback Systems to enhance accountability and beneficiary satisfaction.

    Learning:

    • Plan, organize, and facilitate key program learning events to capture insights and promote continuous improvement.
    • Ensure effective documentation of lessons learned and best practices from project activities.
    • Collaborate with stakeholders to disseminate program learning outcomes and recommendations.
    • Track and analyze the Issues Log register, addressing challenges and recommending solutions.
    • Monitor and update the Risk Register, proactively identifying potential risks and assisting in mitigation strategies.
    • Any other activities assigned by the Line manager.

    Requirements

    • HND/BSC/BA/B.TEC/LLB/ or any equivalent Qualification from a recognized Institution
    • 2 (Years) years Progressively responsible experience in the Humanitarian sector
    • Languages: English and Hausa languages. Knowledge of the local dialect is desirable

    State Team Leader

    Goal / Purpose

    • The LGA Team Lead will play a key role to oversee and coordinate the implementation of NIN enrolment initiatives in partnership with the World Food Programme (WFP) and National Identity Management Commission (NIMC).
    • The LGA Team Lead will manage community engagement, supervise enrolment processes, and ensure smooth communication between all stakeholders involved.
    • The LGA Team Lead Directly Report to the Program Manager with Indirect Report to the Program Coordinator.
    • This role involves extensive community engagement, coordination with local authorities, and information dissemination to ensure the community is well-informed and actively participating in the enrolment process.

    • Collaborate with WFP and NIMC to develop clear, accurate, and culturally appropriate messages for beneficiaries regarding NIN enrolment.
    • Ensure the dissemination of these messages through appropriate channels to maximize reach and understanding among beneficiaries.

    Awareness Raising:

    • Inform beneficiaries about the basic requirements and supporting documents needed for acquiring a National Identification Number (NIN).
    • Conduct educational sessions and distribute informational materials that outline the benefits of having a NIN.

    Community Engagement and Scheduling:

    • Organize and facilitate community meetings to discuss and determine the most convenient times and schedules for NIN enrolment activities.
    • Ensure that enrolment schedules are well-publicized and accessible to all community members.

    Community Mobilization:

    • Identify and engage community leaders to act as advocates and provide attestation for beneficiaries where required.
    • Mobilize local resources and support to aid in the enrolment process.

    Supervision and Coordination:

    • Oversee the entire NIN enrolment process within the assigned LGA, ensuring that it runs smoothly and efficiently.
    • Provide on-the-ground support to resolve any issues that arise during the enrolment process.

    • Monitor enrolment activities and collect data on progress, challenges, and feedback from beneficiaries.
    • Compile and submit detailed reports to NIMC and WFP, highlighting any issues and recommending solutions for improvement.

    • Respond and adjust to flexible activity scheduling and logistical constraints related to public space management.

    Job Profile

    • Experience: Five (5) years Progressively responsible experience in the Humanitarian sector

    Gender and Protection Officer

    Goal / Purpose

    • The Gender & Protection Officer will be responsible for supporting and implementing the minimum measures for mainstreaming protection as outlined by the Humanitarian Principles, the SPHERE Standards and other Protection policies and guidelines. S/he will support the establishment and management of complaints and feedback mechanism desks.
    • This role will support MACI’s operations in promoting and building a ‘Safe Organization’ and maintaining zero tolerance to sexual exploitation and abuse (SEA) of beneficiaries through awareness raising and beneficiary sensitization focusing on the prevention of sexual exploitation and abuse (PSEA) by staff and representatives as well as facilitating confidential reporting of safeguarding, protection, and SEA concerns/incidents through appropriate channels.
    • The role will collaborate closely with other technical areas (especially Programs, HR, and MEAL) to help ensure our safeguarding practice in the communities we work in is robust. Also, s/he needs to communicate well and multi-task under tight deadlines, be a team player and a problem-solver.

    Job Description
    Capacity and Implementation:

    • Build the capacity of all staff on Protection and Gender related issues, to enhance internal knowledge and expertise and provide qualitative delivery of activities with high protection standards and enhance protection sensitive approach within the targeted communities.
    • Work closely with the project team and the beneficiaries to ensure activities are implemented in a gender sensitive manner.
    • Ensure equal participation of women and men in the activities and ensure to have an appropriate complaint and feedback mechanism to collect the communities’ feedback in a gender sensitive manner and ensure that the programme includes these feedbacks throughout the project implementation.
    • Maintain, monitor and measure GBV project implementation and contribute to effective information management on GBV survivors, adhering to the national guidance on case management of survivors and the SOPs.
    • Support the implementation of the SGBV prevention and response by managing programme implementation and monitoring.
    • Meet regularly with the program team to fine-tune programming, ensuring activities are implemented using a gendered lens.
    • Assist in monitoring protection needs and service provision in field locations according to agreed upon guidelines, standards, and indicators.
    • Support vulnerable individuals identified during project implementation according to MACI’s standards.
    • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with local partner organizations, key government departments and any relevant local or international organization.
    • Represent MACI at the monthly & quarterly gender-based violence and protection working groups hosted and share progress, challenges, and appropriate follow up plans.
    • Ensure Do No Harm approach is applied in all activities conducted within the field and host communities.
    • Keeping detailed, organized records of project information and documentation.
    • Submit weekly and monthly work plans along with detailed activity reports to the Project Manager.
