    Operations Officer

    Reports to: Admin and Accounts Manager

    Job Summary

    • As the Purchasing Officer the post holder is responsible for managing all purchasing activities; s/he will ensure effective purchasing and regular delivery of goods and services needed by the Organization, which includes going to the market for procurement and market survey purposes.

    Responsibilities

    • Procurement: Process purchase requisitions / orders within purchasing Period.
    • Work with the Store Officer to create a re-order level for purchases
    • Invite, assess, and award/recommend supplier tenders, bids, quotations, and proposals.
    • Establish and negotiate contract terms and conditions, and maintain supplier relationships
    • Prepare and maintain purchasing records, reports and price lists
    • Work with the admin department to determine procurement needs, quality, and delivery requirements
    • Assist in the development of specifications for equipment, materials, and services to be purchased
    • Administer contract performance, including delivery, receipt, warranty, damages and insurance
    • Reconcile or resolve value discrepancies
    • Comply with and maintain knowledge of applicable rules, legislation, regulations, standards, and best practices
    • Develop and maintain constructive and cooperative working relationships with colleagues and management.

    Requirements and Experience

    • Minimum of 2 years previous work experience as an Operations and/or Procurement officer preferably in a health care sector.
    • Bachelor's Degree in Social Science or any related discipline.
    • Certifications in HSE or Procurement and Supply Management is desired.

    • Ability to develop and deliver effective business and operational plans which are financially relevant.

    Senior Accountant

    Reports to: Chief Financial Officer

    Principal Duties and Responsibilities

    • Responsible for day to day finance and accounts operations of Synapse Services, Reconnect HDI and Psych Pharmacy.
    • Provide managerial and oversight for all accounting functions.
    • Provide accurate, timely periodic financial statements of Synapse Services, Reconnect HDI and Psych Pharmacy Services to management.
    • Provide direction to all accounting staff under your supervision.
    • Provide oversight of assets and finances of Synapse Services, Reconnect HDI and Psych Pharmacy.
    • Manages overall responsibility for accounting related information from Synapse Service, Reconnect HDI and Psych Pharmacy.
    • Oversight include monitoring purchases compared to the budget, accounts payable, general ledger, payroll, and capital expenditures/equipment. 
    • Reconciliation of all cash accounts and monitoring of cash receipts and disbursements.
    • Evaluate performance and professional development of staff.
    • Assist in the management of the overall operational, budgetary, and financial responsibilities and activities of Synapse Services, Reconnect HDI and Psych Pharmacy.
    • Make business decisions that are financially responsible, accountable, justifiable, and defensible in accordance with organization policies and procedures.
    • Handle full spectrum of financial and cost accounting role e.g. AR, AP, GL, forecasting, budgeting etc.
    • Supervises end-of-period processes and supports the analysis of the periodical business performance, budgets, and forecasts.
    • Management and coordination of activities relating to Vendors/Procurement.
    • Responsible for timely monthly, separate and consolidated financial statements, payments, cash-flow management reporting for submission to management.
    • Establish and maintain systems for cost-sensitivity analysis and early-warning of cost-overruns.
    • Work consultatively with the respective departments on cost reduction initiatives.
    • Review & approve payment vouchers & journal entries.
    • Perform cash flow forecasting, budgeting and working closely with the operations and project teams in analyzing margins, variances and cost analysis.
    • Overseeing the Maintenance and reconciliation of Goods Receipts/ Invoice Receipt Account.
    • Create and enhance financial policies and procedures across the accounting department as well as the wider Finance department.
    • Ensures consistency in procedures and policies across the accounting department and that these policies are appropriately set for the achievement of the business’s overall goals and objectives.
    • Leads compliance with the business’s internal corporate framework policies and finance manuals.
    • Assist in auditing activities by providing necessary information and preparing requested documentations.
    • Monthly evaluating of Unapplied Advance Payment to determine the risk level.
    • Monitors expenditures, analyze revenues and determine budget variances
    • Perform month-end accounting activities such as reconciliations and journal entries.
    • Develops reports on all accounting related matters inclusive of taxation matters.
    • These reports accompany pro-active advice and recommendations on the business’s financial approaches from an accounting and taxation perspective.
    • Formulate and oversee the implementation of the company’s accounting policies
    • Ensure completeness and accuracy of the company’s records (e.g. Clients, Suppliers, Banks, Employees, Management, Government and its relevant agencies etc.).
    • Perform any other duty assigned by the Medical Director .

    Education, Experience & Skills

    • Minimum of MSc in Accounting.
    • First Degree must be in accounting
    • Certified member of ICAN/ACCA.
    • Minimum of 4 - 5 years’ core experience in accounting/management account.
    • Excellent strategic planning skills.
    • Ability to work independently and highly meticulous.
    • Ability to lead and manage a team effectively.
    • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Excel>|
    • Knowledge of Oracle Financials or any other financial software

    Psychiatric Nurse

    Location: Awka, Anambra State.

    Reports to: Medical Director

    Job Summary

    • The Psychiatric Nurse will work as part of a team of medical professionals to provide psychiatric nursing care to patients of all ages, gender, religion and disposition, while creating a safe and therapeutic environment to aid their mental stability.

    Responsibilities

    • Responsible for overseeing the delivery of care to all patients delegating duties and monitoring junior staff carrying these out
    • Assess all identified group of patients and new admissions to the Practice
    • To ensure that identified care planning is implemented and evaluated for all patients especially those within their identified groups
    • To ensure that care given is individualized, patient centered and in collaboration with the multidisciplinary team and other statutory and voluntary organizations as appropriate
    • To orientate newly admitted patient on the principles, rules and regulations governing the unit at the point of admission and ensure that these rules are strictly adhered to by the patients
    • To ensure that all the policies and admission documents are signed by the patient and their relations where applicable
    • The Nurse will be involved in performing patient personal care duties, which would include washing, bathing and dressing using appropriate hoists and aids. Often uses equipment and clinical procedures requiring knowledge e.g. subcutaneous infusions, catheter care, wound care, pressure relieving equipment
    • The Nurse will be able to conduct and interpret a Urine Drug Test for patients and clients and document the results appropriately
    • Ensure that a Urine Drug Test is conducted for all patient on board at any point if there is a suspected case of smuggling of substance into the facility
    • The Nurse would spend extensive parts of the shift in direct/indirect (overseeing and monitoring) patient care
    • Also dedicate time during the shift writing clinical reports, and updating care plans. Also the Nurse will be expected to undertake supervision/performance appraisal of junior staff, as directed by the Head of Clinical Services
    • To engage in pickup of new or old clients as required
    • Observe assigned patients on a daily basis to identify, interpret, and document physical and emotional status and/or patterns, such as assaultive or suicidal behaviour, and response to treatment or medication. o Inspect patient rooms every morning
      • Check to ensure that the number of patients at handover tallies with the number at takeover given allowance for discharged cases in the course of the day.
      • Inspect rooms to ensure air conditioner and lights are switched off when patients are not in room
      • Ensure vital signs are taken 2 times a day
      • Work with the support workers to see to the personal hygiene of patients in the morning
      • Ensure the dining area is kept clean when not in use, ensure support worker/cook take the dishes to the kitchen immediately after every meal
    • Administer psychotropic medications to patients, monitors use, and documents reactions; educate patients on the purpose, dosage, and side effects of medication, and explain the implications of patient's refusal to take prescribed medication.
    • Provide crisis intervention to those individuals experiencing acute episodes.
    • Obtain medical, psychiatric, social, and family histories of new admissions; take and record vital signs; obtain lab specimens and assist physicians with physical exams
    • Schedules and arranges for special tests; develops discharge plans; maintains charts and logs; performs catheterizations and enemas; and draws blood.
    • Aid patients in obtaining proper medical care, after release or during hospitalization, by identifying community agencies and resources to assist patients with stabilization while living in the community.
    • Interact with private medical facilities, courts, and Federal and State agencies to express concerns of the patient and to discuss treatment also when required, testify in court as to the patient's mental and physical condition.
    • When needed, acts as a team leader, on a rotational basis, for an assigned shift; plan, assign, and review the work of other regular nursing staff, student nurses, mental health technicians and support staff.
    • To be able to deliver services and treatment in patient’s own environment whenever the need arises
    • Ensure protected meal time is properly implemented
    • Inspect patient food before taking it to patients for consumption
    • Make Clinical presentations during clinical meetings and during business meetings.
    • Ensure take home medications are well dispensed for patient going on weekend leave

    Requirements and Experience

    • Must be a Registered Psychiatric Nurse
    • Must be medically and physically fit.
    • Must have a minimum of 3 years’ work experience as a psychiatric nurse

    • Evaluate and assess the need for mental health services;
