    Duties

    • Counsels and assists U.S. firms with marketing strategies; monitors and reports trade opportunities; plans, organizes, implements and supports trade events; researches market trends; and serves of CS industry teams.
    • Serves as Marketing Lead for CS Nigeria where incumbent creates content for press releases, newsletters, websites, outreach campaigns, and Commercial Officer speeches.
    • Serves as office Systems Administrator and Webmaster to manage, utilize and upkeep all information and communications systems for CS Lagos, and supports communication efforts for CS West Africa region.

    Qualifications and Evaluations
    Education Requirements:

    • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent in Business Administration, Information Technology, Economics, Finance, Marketing, Mass Communication or International Trade is required.
    • Note: NYSC Certificate or Exemption document is required.

    Experience: 

    • Three (3) years of progressively responsible experience in business, government or non-government organization (NGO) in the fields of marketing, trade promotion, economics, accounting, international trade or similar field is required.

    Job Knowledge: 

    • Must be fully functional with standard Microsoft Office Suite applications and common office equipment.
    • A basic knowledge of local business firms, trade practices, restrictions, organizations and customs; of marketing and sales techniques; of assigned industries and their potential for U.S. businesses and understanding of business due diligence investigations is required.

    Duties
    Basic Function:

    • The incumbent performs the clerical and administrative duties as the Office Management Assistant (OMA) for the Political and Economic Section (Pol/Econ) relating to the general day-to-day management of the Pol/Econ office. 
    • S/he reports to the Deputy Pol/Econ Chief and assists all members of the Section.  S/he will assist with scheduling official meetings, arranging and coordinating events and travel – both within Lagos and outside – for members of the Pol/Econ Section as well as visiting U.S. government officials (including the Ambassador and Deputy Chief of Mission (DCM)), and the Principal Officer (PO), on occasion.  
    • The incumbent will be expected to liaise with the Abuja Front Office (FO), the General Services Office (GSO), the Public Affairs Section (PAS), the Regional Security Office (RSO), Foreign Commercial Services (FCS), Foreign Agriculture Services (FAS), and the official residence employees in order to coordinate all logistical support required for the Section.
    • The incumbent is required to have unescorted access to the Controlled Access Area (CAA) where the Pol/Econ office is located and therefore will require a Secret security clearance.

    Qualifications and Evaluations
    Education Requirements:

    • 2 years of university education is required.

    Experience:

    • Minimum One year experience in a similar office management or secretarial role handling duties such as coordinating calendars, sending emails, scheduling meetings and events, and arranging travel.

    Job Knowledge:

    • Knowledge of Tags and Terms for the general principles of filing, general office procedures and computer-based data management
