    Health and Safety Officer (HSE)

    Responsibilities

    • Carry out risk assessments and develop strategy to reduce risks.
    • Outline safe operational procedures which identify and take into account all relevant hazards.
    • Carry out regular site inspections to check policies and procedures are being properly implemented.
    • Inspects the site to ensure it is a hazard-free environment.
    • Conducts toolbox meetings.
    • Participate in the project safety committee and leads all efforts to enhance safety
    • Reviews and approves all subcontractor’s safety plans in line with SCNL standard.
    • Verifies that injury logs and reports are completed and submitted to related government agencies.
    • Verifies that all tools and equipment are adequate and safe for use
    • Promotes safe practices at the job site.
    • Enforces safety guidelines.
    • Trains and carries out drills and exercises on how to manage emergency situations.
    • Conducts investigations of all accidents and near-misses.
    • Reports to concerned authorities as requested or mandated by regulations
    • Conducts job hazard analyses.
    • Establishes safety standards and policies as needed.
    • Performs emergency response drills.
    • Watches out for the safety of all workers and works to protect them from entering hazardous situations.
    • Responds to employees’ safety concerns.
    • Coordinates registration and removal of hazardous waste.
    • Serves as the link between state and local agencies and contractors.
    • Receives reports from and responds to orders issued by Department of Labor inspectors.
    • Arranges for OSHA mandated testing and/or evaluations of the workplace by external agencies/consultants.

    Site Supervisor

    Job Description

    • Inspecting construction sites regularly to identify and eliminate potential safety hazards.
    • Supervising and instructing the construction team as well as subcontractors.
    • Educating site workers on construction safety regulations and accident protocol.
    • Enforcing site safety rules to minimize work-related accidents and injuries.
    • Handling site accidents in accordance with established accident protocol.
    • Maintaining an accurate record of construction employee attendance.
    • Evaluating the performance of construction employees and instituting disciplinary measures as needed.
    • Analyzing blueprints to ensure that construction projects meet design, safety, and budget specifications.
    • Recommending changes to construction operations or procedures to increase efficiency.
    • Liaise with contractors, managers and other stakeholders, ensuring that all parties remain coordinated.
    • Translate blueprints into plans
    • Coordination and supervision of workers.
    • Provide schedules for workers
    • Assign tasks to construction laborers
    • Responsible for maintaining safety and quality standards
    • Keeping detailed records of construction site activities.
    • Organizing the equipment and manpower necessary to complete the project.

    Storekeeper / Inventory Officer

    Job Summary

    • We are searching for a Store Keeper whose role will entail retail establishments and they will be responsible for maintaining inventories, ordering new items, placing products on shelves, reporting the expired items, and keeping records of transferred merchandise.

    General Duties

    • Find, sort, or move goods between different sites.
    • Compile reports on various aspects of changes in inventory.
    • Keep records of items shipped, received, or transferred to another location.
    • To exercise general control over all activities within the stores.
    • To ensure the safekeeping of both quality and quantity of materials.
    • To maintain proper records and report daily opening and closing stock to the Inventory Officer/Logistics Officer.
    • To initiate purchase requisitions for the replacement of stock of all regular store items whenever the stock level of any item of store approaches the minimum limit fixed in respect thereof.
    • To initiate action for stoppage of further purchasing when the stock level approaches the maximum limit.
    • To check and receive purchased materials forwarded by the receiving department and to arrange for the storage inappropriate places.
    • To reserve a particular material for a specific job when so required.
    • To issue materials only in required quantities against authorized requisition notes/material lists.
    • To check the book balances, with the actual physical stock at frequent intervals for accuracy by way of internal control over wrong issues, pilferage, etc.
    • To ensure no material is found loitering within the project site after closing of business on site.
    • To carry out measurement of sand, granite, cement, wood, paints, and other materials supplied or transferred to another site (s).

    Responsibilities

    • Take a daily stock count of materials in the store upon resumption and after the close of work daily:
    • Keep records of stock counts in the store and sign on it daily.
    • Immediately report any missing or stolen material and ensure no material loss
    • Prepares/sends weekly reports of work/activities for the Inventory Officer/Logistics Officer
    • Responds to material release approval text from the Site Manager before any discharge.
    • Attends daily Pep meetings on-site with the site workers for the work plan.
    • To mark cement, planks, etc. with a marker after supply is made.
    • To check and receive purchased materials forwarded by the receiving department and to arrange for the storage inappropriate places.
    • To carry out measurement of sand, granite, cement, wood, paints, and other materials supplied or transferred to another site (s).
    • Accountable for all materials kept in-store and delivered on-site assigned.
    • Send daily reports to authorized personnel.

    Requirements

    • OND in Accounting or related field.
    • Minimum of 2 years’ experience post-NYSC.
    • Experience in a construction company will be an added advantage.
    • Proficiency in inventory management.
    • Data entry skills.
    • Verbal and written communication.
