    Head, Logistics Planning & Performance

    Summary

    Analytical and actionable Liaison between Plant and Logistics Operations.  Develop a margin optimized demand & supply plan. Develop and implement costing and routing models for existing and prospective customers. Create planning metrics. Analyze transportation and distribution methods and processes for optimal delivery of customer freight that meets established service and cost requirements. Leverage IT solutions to schedule and coordinate the distribution of cement in the most economically advantageous manner based on transport mode and operating capabilities.

    Responsibilities

    • Plan master production /distribution schedule with production team/distribution team of each plant
    • Develop/ Implement and continuous review of costing and routing models for customers to maximize profitability.
    • Lead Logistics systems/processes projects (TMS,CDS,DMS,IVMS, EFIS) to improve efficiency, speed, quality of transportation services and overall cost to serve
    • Lead efficiency across the entire Logistics pipeline by monitoring delays and work with relevant stakeholders to address
    • Develop/implement supply chain risk management and contingency plan
    • Manage Rail distribution development projects

    Profile Required

    • Business oriented and customer focus
    • Strong knowledge of production planning, inventory management, sales forecasting, advanced planning system
    • Ability to identify process improvements, managing change and delivering quantifiable improvements
    • Highly computer literate (MS office) with experience in using an ERP system (eg. SAP),
    • Thinking and analytical skills
    • Good supervisory and people management skills
    • Organizing and planning skills
    • Negotiation skills
    • Good communication and influencing skills
    • Interpersonal skills 
    • BSc in Supply chain, Engineering or BA
    • At least 3 years’ experience in Distribution planning 

    Mobility

    • Position is based in the Head Office (Ikoyi) with occasional travel to the production sites to support the Regional Sales and Operational planning

    Mechanical Manager, Mfamosing

    Summary

    Within the framework of the plant’s objectives assigned by the Maintenance Manager, the job assignment is to optimize the maintenance activities in the Plant. This includes managing all maintenance operations in order to increase the reliability factor, the efficiency and effectiveness of the mechanical maintenance team and decreasing the cost per tonne of maintenance

    Responsibilities

    • Responsible for the execution of maintenance work carried out on mechanical equipment
    • Develops working methods in his field: defines procedures and ensures that they are implemented
    • Ensures proper planning of work, resources and execution of tasks
    • Contributes to/participates in the short/long term investment plans
    • Manages his team: defines the missions and objectives of his workforce and carries out their performance reviews, promotes the quality of the work and motivates his personnel
    • Ensures the permanent update of the personnel skills, develops and implements a training plan, develops an individual coaching
    • Follows policies (PIP & best practice) in his day-to-day work
    • Defines the budget of his department and negotiates with the boss
    • Facilitates communications and relationships:
      • Conducts department meetings regularly,
      • Conveys management policies to the subordinates,
      • Communicates results to the top management,
    • Keeps himself informed of general plant practices so as to ensure “on-call” duty
    • Ensures working conditions and safety at work.
    • Ensure involvement in the implementation and maintenance of integrated management system in the plant.
    • Ensure the quality and practical application of mechanical operations
    • Ensures that maintenance works are carried out satisfactorily and within the set timeframe
    • Ensures that adequate action is taken when mechanical incidents occur
    • Guarantees the safety of the equipment and of the people working for him
    • Optimizes maintenance costs and manages his budget
    • Promotes the quality of the work and motivates his personnel
    • Develops their skills by internal and external training to keep abreast of technical developments
    • Ensure coordination and cooperation between his and other departments
    • Support implementation of ISO 14001:2015 EMS and ISO 9001:2015 QMS
    • Ensure proper management of tools provided by the company to efficiently carry out maintenance tasks
    • The work environment of the job is the Cement Plant and the Quarry

    Education & Experience

    • First Degree in Mechanical Engineering 
    • Minimum of 10 years’ experience preferably in the cement industry

    Technical Competencies:

    • Good knowledge of cement manufacturing processes and  products
    • Strong problem-solving and trouble-shooting skills
    • In-depth knowledge of practical mechanical operations and application
    • Knowledge of safety laws and regulations
    • Knowledge of engineering codes and standards
    • Good knowledge of safety rules applied to maintenance
    • Experience in the development of quality management systems, for example ISO 9001:2000 and TPM
    • Predictive and preventive maintenance
    • Hands-on experience
    • Micro data processing (MSWord, Excel, Power Point, project, AutoCAD and Visio)
