Key Responsibilities

• Identify and apply for relevant grants, donor funding, and CSR partnership opportunities to support our recycling programs.
• Build relationships with government bodies, NGOs, corporate partners, and sustainability-focused organizations.
• Collaborate with internal teams to design and pitch recycling and circular economy initiatives to potential funders.
• Monitor trends in the sustainability space and propose innovative solutions for business expansion.
• Prepare high-quality concept notes, proposals, presentations, and reports for prospective partners and funders.
• Represent the company at industry events, sustainability forums, and networking opportunities.

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Environmental Science, Sustainability, or related field.
• 3–5 years of experience in a business development or grant acquisition role.
• Familiarity with the recycling industry or circular economy is a strong advantage.

• We are seeking a Business Strategist to drive the long-term vision, innovation, and strategic growth of our sustainability and recycling enterprise. 
• This role is designed for a forward-thinking professional with deep research acumen, a passion for environmental impact, and a bold mindset for unlocking opportunities through grant funding, market expansion, and strategic partnerships.
• This role will be central to shaping our business model, strengthening our value chain, and scaling our operations across Africa.

Core Responsibilities
As a Business Strategist, you will:

• Drive Grant and Funding Strategy: Identify local and international funding opportunities (climate funds, donor grants, carbon credit partnerships), and lead proposal development aligned with our environmental objectives.
• Strategic Stakeholder Engagement: Build business cases and investor decks that attract and align key stakeholders — from impact investors to policy influencers and supply chain partners.
• Sustainability Intelligence & Trend Analysis: Monitor global ESG trends, government policies, and environmental innovations to inform strategy and compliance.
• Engage & Build Strategic Partners: Build strategic partnerships that will drive business expansion and visibility.
• Design and Execute Growth Strategies: Develop and implement medium-to-long-term strategic plans that position the company for sustainable expansion across Nigeria and Africa.
• Lead Market Research & Opportunity Mapping: Uncover new business models, market entry pathways, and investment opportunities in the circular economy, renewable energy, and plastic waste recycling.
• Cross-functional Leadership: Collaborate with operations, Finance, and external partners to embed strategy into execution.

Requirements

• Candidates should have 5+ years of experience in business strategy, sustainability , or social enterprise growth (experience in recycling, circular economy, or clean tech is an advantage).
• Deep understanding of climate finance, ESG models, green innovation trends, and grant funding landscapes.
• Exceptional research, analytical, and proposal writing skills.
• Track record of developing and executing winning strategies or proposals that led to business growth or secured high-value partnerships.
• Strategic thinking, entrepreneurial drive, and the ability to lead from idea to execution.
• Bonus: Familiarity with impact-driven recycling models like Kaltani, or similar African-led green enterprises.
