    Data Center Critical Facilities Specialist III

    Responsibilities
    Facility/Infrastructure Maintenance:

    • Performs semi-routine preventative maintence checks on-site to non-critical, facility components.
    • Performs semi-routine repairs, maintenance and installations to non-critical facility components
    • Monitors the Builiding Monitoring System (BMS) and responds timely to semi-routine alarms according to standard operating procedures
    • Assists more senior staff in higher facility repairs and corrective maintenance measures
    • Operates plumbing, fire suppression, and safety systems, under the supervision of more senior technical staff

    Vendor Support:

    • Supports the work order approval process for service providers on routine maintenance work, for tracking: briefing at the start of work, work during the day workday/shift and final review of the work carried out
    • Ensures vendor maintenance activities are carried out as per Equinix's standard operating procedures.

    Site Administration & Incident Support:

    • Performs semi-routine site logs for permits, such as Maintenance Operation Protocol (MOPs) and scripts
    • Uses acquired job skills in following operating procedures to support on-site administration.

    Work Orders & Additional Projects:

    • Completes semi-routine work requests and circuit installations
    • Follows established procedures with troubleshooting and maintaining office equipment (if necessary); supports auxiliary equipment and machines
    • Assists more senior staff with responding on-site incidents and acts as directed.

    Collaboration:

    • Collaborates with others to resolve semi-routine facility incidents
    • Provides assistance to more senior staff on infrastructure projects
    • Informs stakeholders of inventory needs to maintain stock levels of parts and equipment.

    Qualifications

    • Typically requires a high school diploma and proven years of equivalent work experience.

    Data Center Customer Operations Specialist IV

    Job Summary

    • Has a substantial understanding of the job while working on assignments that are moderately difficult requiring judgement in resolving issues or making recommendations. 
    • Focus is on moderately difficult tasks, using substantial understanding of standard operating procedure. Supports the overall team.

    Responsibilities
    Queue Management / Reporting:

    • Reviews work orders in the queue and works on moderately difficult requests by adhering to commitment times
    • Supports cross-functional teams to collaborate on customer tickets
    • Ensures any necessary reporting is complete and accurate; supports ad-hoc reporting requests
    • Actively provides input and makes recommendations to processes
    • Maintains detailed written records of all work activity
    • Updates local asset databases and other systems.

    Installations:

    • Handles moderately difficult rack and stack customer equipment tickets
    • Able to read moderately difficult installation spreadsheet plans and supports implementing installations accordingly
    • Supports the installation of moderately difficult installs, which may include: overhead cable trays, cage mesh, cabinets, and cable management/support systems; circuits for fiber terminations; cable distribution trays, cabinets, and cable management/support systems; and performs tape changes and back-up necessities
    • Recognizes and raises capacity concerns for infrastructure expansions needs and cabling where needed
    • Performs quality checks on both cross-connects and on-site support tickets and recommends improvements.

    Cross-Connect:

    • Supports moderately difficult datacenter cross-connect work, requiring substantial understanding of operating procedures for: installs, terminations, modifications, and testing
    • Installs and tests moderately difficult cross-connect circuits, which may include: switched, multiplexed, etc.

    Testing / Troubleshooting:

    • Supports moderately difficult operating testing of layer 1, 2 and 3 cross-connect certification testing
    • Supports the troubleshooting of moderly difficult circuits (i.e., switched, multiplexed, etc.)
    • Escalates more advanced circuits and supports as needed
    • Works with customers to troubleshoot issues and uses experience gained to recommend solutions

    Stakeholder Partnership:

    • Monitors stock levels and proactively addresses needs for materials with proper teams
    • Provides escalated work order support, and supports dispatch of alarms
    • May provide back-up support to security personnel, if needed.

    Customer Management:

    • Supports customer satisfaction through timely and precise order execution
    • Delivers a high level of service and an excellent customer experience when interfacing with customers.
    • Provides support with time expectations on new deployments and existing alterations
    • Supports customers on-site by through access control and escorting services
    • Point of Contact (POC) for supporting moderately difficult customer requests, exceptions or escalations.

    Projects:

    • Supports and partners with team members on projects as directed
    • Coordinates vendors for various IBX related projects
    • Performs quality assurance on new customer installation or deployments.

    Training:

    • Completes all assigned training in a timely manner
    • May provide guidance and support to more junior team members and new hires.

    IP Operations Supervisor

    Job Summary

    • Manages several on-staff NSD engineers including assisting in recruitment, supervision, scheduling, mentoring & development, evaluation, and disciplinary actions.

    Responsibilities

    • The IP Operations Supervisor provides support for the IPNGN Network infrastructure and technical operations support for all IP customer base (this includes third party IP customers not directly connected to the Main One IPNGN platform). 

    Specifically, the IP Operations Supervisor’s responsibilities shall include:

    • Ensure continued smooth operation of the global IP network infrastructure through monitoring and performance reporting against performance benchmarks
    • Ensure that biannnual internal security audits are carried out on the network and recommendations made
    • Ensure that new IP customer provisioning is carried out in line with the IP Provisioning process
    • Definition and implementation of network security policies
    • Ensure that accurate logging, timely updates and communication are provided by L2 Support and other engineers during the lifecycle of any IP related incident
    • Ensure that all escalated IP related tickets are resolved within agreed timelines and handled professionally
    • Provide adequate support and requisite input to IP planning and technical sales teams
    • Ensure standardization and regular update of all documentation using the DMS system, and in line with corporate policy
    • Ensure that all reports are developed in line with the defined IP reporting process and made available to all stakeholders accurately and in timely manner
    • Ensure continuous improvement and adherence to the MainOne IP Operations policies and procedures
    • Ensure all third party application support contracts and hardware support contracts for all IPNGN systems are up to date and functional.

    Qualifications

    • Relevant professional / technical certifications
    • Proven years relevant experience required in troubleshooting IP networks and all related issues
    • Strong experience configuring and troubleshooting of L2 and L3 networks especially on Cisco routers and switches
    • Cisco IOS XE/XR experience will be an added advantage
    • Familiarity with TAC case management and escalation process
    • Strong understanding of a process driven environment
    • L2 and L3 MPLS experience
    • Routing protocol configuration and troubleshooting experience (BGP, ISIS, MPLS, OSPF, EIGRP)
    • IP multicast experience 
    • CCNP , CCIP, CCSP certification or equivalent experience
    • CCIE Certified - will be an added advantage
