The Electrical, Control & Instrumentation Reliability and Performance Engineer is responsible for ensuring reliability, protection integrity, control system stability, and performance optimisation of all electrical, control, and instrumentation systems within the steam power plant.
The role provides technical oversight of protection systems, relay coordination, Distributed Control System (DCS) reliability, instrumentation accuracy, and electrical risk exposure. It supports outage planning, incident analysis, predictive maintenance analytics, and plant performance optimisation initiatives.

Key Duties and Responsibilities
Electrical Protection and System Integrity
- Validate protection system settings, relay coordination studies, and fault level calculations.
- Review and approve protection schemes for generators, transformers, switchgear, and balance-of-plant systems.
- Investigate electrical protection-related trips and recommend corrective actions.
- Ensure compliance with grid code and internal protection standards.
Control System and Instrumentation Reliability
- Analyse DCS, PLC, and control system-related trips and system disturbances.
- Monitor DCS health indicators, redundancy performance, and communication stability.

Reliability & Outage Risk Support

Plant Performance and Optimisation
- Lead monitoring of heat rate, auxiliary power consumption, and efficiency metrics from an EC&I standpoint.

- Identify performance losses attributable to instrumentation inaccuracies or control instability.
- Recommend optimisation strategies to enhance plant efficiency and stability.
Predictive Maintenance and Asset Intelligence
- Support the implementation of predictive maintenance analytics for electrical and instrumentation systems.
- Develop and maintain digital dashboards for EC&I reliability and performance reporting.
- Analyse condition monitoring data to detect early signs of degradation.
- Integrate asset intelligence into maintenance planning.
Reporting and Continuous Improvement
- Prepare periodic reliability and performance reports for management review.
- Provide technical recommendations to reduce forced outages and nuisance trips.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives aligned with plant reliability objectives.
Education and Work Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical & Electronics Engineering or Electro-Mechatronics Engineering or any related engineering disciplines, or relevant experience to back up the any engineering degrees.

The Technical Risk Management Lead is responsible for the independent oversight, identification, assessment, and mitigation of engineering and operational risks across the Company’s power generation assets.
The role provides structured risk governance over critical plant systems, including boilers, turbines, generators, electrical systems, control and instrumentation infrastructure, balance-of-plant equipment, and major outages. It ensures that technical risks capable of causing forced outages, asset degradation, safety incidents, regulatory breaches, or loss of generation capacity are proactively identified, evaluated, and controlled in alignment with the Company’s risk appetite.

Technical Risk Governance
- Lead implementation of the Technical Risk Management Framework across generation and engineering functions.
- Maintain and update the Technical Risk Register and Critical Asset Risk Profile.

Risk Identification and Assessment

The Head of Financial Reporting will be responsible for coordinating and managing the accurate recording and reporting of Egbin’s financial statements.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Develops annual Revenue Management (RM) goals.
- Coordinate investigation, analysis, evaluation and resolution of revenue-related issues that arise during disputes on revenue recognition.
- Periodically review and report on the status of billing with the Market Operator, Bulk Trader, Eligible Customers and the outsourced functions.
- Review revenue impacting policies, processes and activities in line with realities of the Nigerian environment.
