    Mechanical Engineering Technician

    About the job

    MAIN TASKS INCLUDE:

    • Dismantle and assemble parts & equipment such as various types of centrifugal pumps, Mech Seals, and compressors, reciprocating and screw compressors, blowers and others according to operational procedures sheets and drawings.
    • Clean all equipment, dismantled components in a through and professional manner.
    • Prepare dismantling reports of the various equipment handled. This implies he should be familiar with various measuring tools like Vernier Calipers, Depth caliper/ micrometer, ID/OD micrometers, Dial gauges, and have computer skills, report writing skills.
    • Prepare spares consumed reconciliation sheets.
    • Prepare assembly reports.
    • Verify inventory and parts received against Bill of Material per job prior to assembly of equipment.
    • Monitor the quality control of manufactured parts prior to assembly of equipment.
    • Apply agreed on test procedures
    • Dynamically balance rotors and fans according to ISO 1940 using the Abro H-100 Machine.
    • Install piping and set mechanical seals to match drawings.
    • Operate laser alignment tools, condition monitoring equipment, hydraulic torque tools and high-pressure testing equipment.
    • Work with Lead Technician/ Supervisors and lead other team members to carry out complete overhauls or installation and commissioning of various types of centrifugal pumps and compressors, reciprocating and screw compressors in addition to blowers on customer sites either onshore or offshore, this also includes bearings and mechanical seal change-outs.
    • Represent the company in a positive manner while executing jobs onsite, by maintaining an excellent safety record and behaving professionally with clients and team members at all times.
    • He must be responsible for all the tools he uses and take good care of them when required he will carry out PMs, on tools and workshop machines.
    • Carry-out good housekeeping of the workshop and any field worksites.
    • He must be HSE knowledgeable and demonstrate a safe working culture at all times.

    Job Specification:

    • Educational background:
    • B.Sc. Engineering or Technical University degree

    Professional experience and requirements:

    • 4-6 years of experience in a related field
    • Minimum 3 years of experience in compressed air systems, rotating equipment, electric motors, and utilities equipment is required
    • Comprehensive understanding of all maintenance principles including condition monitoring and root cause analysis techniques
    • Proficiency in English (spoken and written)
    • Proficiency in MS Office (Word, PowerPoint, excel)
    • Job requires travelling within the country.

    Product Sales (Conditioning & Monitoring)

    JOB DESCRIPTION:

    • Develop and maintain strong business relationships with key departments across the clients, namely Engineering & Projects to identify their technical needs relating to conditioning and monitoring.

    • Conduct regular visits to stakeholders across all Clients to follow up on current business and spot new opportunities.

    • Conduct surveys across all clients to develop an accurate and detailed database for rotating equipment lines, record and keep track of their status and activities to initiate and develop business opportunities through proposing interventions, overhauls, upgrades, and replacements.

    • Develop monthly action plans to meet or exceed sales targets set.

    • Raise technical awareness for conditioning and monitoring across all clients and respond to their technical queries, operational challenges, and issues through presentations and demonstrations of the products with customers.

    • Work closely with the clients through their decision-making and selection process and seek opportunities to propose solutions and give a leading edge over competing products in new sales opportunities.

    • Maintain up-to-date market and competitor knowledge related to conditioning and monitoring to develop effective counter strategies.

    • Provide technical support to the sales teams through joint visits to clients to identify new opportunities and continuously increase the prospect funnel.

    • Produce and/or provide technical guides, best practices documents, and presentations for internal and external use.

    • Prepare monthly and quarterly reports on progress for each of conditioning and monitoring and present forecasts and plans for the following month/quarter.

    • Coordinate closely with the Service Center facility to identify and acquire service jobs.

    • Coordinate closely with the technical teams across relevant OEMs to develop technical know-how and acumen regarding the job role.

    • Keep updates on product releases, upgrades, and new technologies concerning conditioning and monitoring.

    • Work closely with different departments to identify new opportunities.

     

    QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Educational Background (Degree): Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related field

    • Years of Experience Required: 6-8 years of experience, preferably in oil and gas.

    • Professional training on Bentley Navader or any related

    • IT Knowledge Required: Proficiency in MS Outlook.

    COMPETENCIES:

    • Strategic and tactical mindset with a passion for sales and networking skills

    • Ability to manage lead, negotiate & finalize deals

    • Experience in industrial technology sales

    • Experience in dealing with OEMs representatives

    • Ability to develop and execute strategic pursuit plans

    • Excellent writing skills and presentation skills

    • Team player and good work ethic.
