    Head of Enegineering

    Job Description

    • As the Head of Engineering, you will be responsible for directing, administering, and coordinating the entire Product & Engineering business (Zojatach/Zojapay) in accordance with policies, goals, and objectives established by the CEO.
    • You will oversee ongoing core business operations within the company.
    • Assist the Chief Technical Officer in the development of enterprise/organization policies and goals that optimize financial and corporate performance and facilitate the growth of the company.
    • You will be responsible for developing, leading and managing all commercial activities of the business, as well as including market competitiveness, product definition/pricing and distribution/diversity strategies.
    • You will be accountable for effective and efficient technical operations of the company and for managing all operational risks to reduce their negative impacts to as low as reasonably possible.
    • You will ensure that all technical operational controls are in place and working, and that the enterprise works in compliance with all related regulations.

    Responsibilities

    • Deep Understanding of enterprise grade technologies.
    • Experience in building and running distributed systems for 24x7 online services at scale. - Deep understanding & expertise with highly transactional, large relational and complex systems.
    • Knowledge of Object-Oriented Design, data structures, algorithm design, and complexity analysis.
    • Experience in defining and executing professional software engineering best practices for the full software development life cycle. Strong analytic and quantitative skills; ability to use hard data and metrics to back up assumptions, recommendations, and drive actions.
    • Strengths in problem-solving, issue resolution, ability to work in a deadline-driven work environment, attention to detail, and ability to multitask.
    • Strong verbal and written communication skills with a demonstrated experience. Engaging and influencing peers and executives.

    •  Types of applications built: Mobile Apps, Websites, API Applications - Backend: Laravel (PHP), MySQL. - Architecture: Microservices / Serverless with AWS and Azure. - Frontend: React, React Native, Redux. 
    • Regulatory Compliance: - Stay informed about regulatory changes and compliance requirements in the financial services industry (Nigeria and major Global markets).
    • Ensure that the platform complies with all relevant laws and regulations.
    • Technology Strategy and Leadership: Develop and execute the technology strategy in alignment with the company's goals. Provide visionary leadership to the technology team, fostering a culture of innovation and excellence.
    • Stay up-to-date with industry trends and emerging technologies to drive continuous improvement. Set up the organization & processes to enable timely delivery of projects with high quality.
    • Set up best practices for development and champion their adoption.
    • Oversee Architecture & design of technically robust, flexible and scalable solutions. Engage with product management and CTO to drive the functionality, usability and other non-functional requirements and hence the solution for the same. Ensure on-time launches by managing design, development, and integration efforts according to a standard or customized project plan.
    • Show strong business and technical judgment that will accelerate time to market of releases, while incrementally moving our services towards the long-term vision. Ensure the security, scalability, and reliability of our platform.
    • Team Management: - Build and lead a high-performing technology, providing mentorship, guidance, and professional development opportunities for the engineering team.
    • Foster a collaborative and inclusive work environment that encourages creativity and problem-solving. - Be a champion of engineering excellence: establish team metrics for measurement of engineering and operational excellence. Implement a consistent, regular process for assessment and improvement.

    Requirements

    • University Degree in Computer Science, Technology related courses, Engineering, or other numerate disciplines
    • Certification in Product Management, Software Engineers, Sales, Business process automation and Business Development.
    • Minimum 10 years in an ICT Operating environment with hands on experience on Application Solutions, Sales, Business Process,
    • Master’s Degree in Business Administration, Economics, Finance, Information Technology or related fields from a recognized University will be an advantage.
    • Qualification in a recognized framework for IT service delivery; ITIL, Business process automation and Business Development certification
    • Membership of professional management associations will be an added advantage • designing, Business Development, Research and executive management and at least 6 years in senior management positions

    Senior / Mid-Level Backend Developer

    Description

    • This position is responsible for the design, development, testing and deployment of software systems that meets customer requirement.
    • The role also involves sitting within the IT team of a business, and will be involved in liaising with the Business Analysts and Development Managers to ensure software projects meet requirements.

    Responsibilities

    • Fix bugs in product and make it more efficient Bug free application.
    • Ensure all projects are delivered within the timeline.
    • Delivered software within specified timelines.
    • Ensure documentation standard is followed at all times.
    • Standard code documentation.
    • Resolve all customer support request within the SLA.
    • Good customer rating without escalation to management.

    Requirements

    • Strong background in PHP and some of its framework (Laravel / Lumen particularly).
    • Experience with modern-day development tools including version control, preprocessors, task runners, etc.
