Job Description

• We are looking for Senior Manager within our Solutions Architecture team with varying levels of experience and background to join our progressive team.
• The candidate should be able to lead commercialization and technical solution engagements with Visa partners and clients, this role will be a member of the solutions architecture team that is responsible for driving the adoption and success of Visa Fintech partners to launch card programs, issuance of new cards and enabling relevant digital services
• This client/partner experience-oriented role will be a unique combination of solutioning, technology architecture, hands on technical support and client/partner facing relationship
• This role will require a deep working knowledge of payments API technology, card processing solutions and card operations.
• This is a full-time role based in Lagos, Nigeria and reports into Director, Digital Solutions, CEMEA.
• The candidate will direct the client and partners, technology and product teams on solution design and lead deep-dive sessions to define user flows, user experience and help partners with developing the frontend & backend infrastructure.
• In addition, he/she must be highly collaborative, bring a structured approach to client engagement and documentation, employ moderation and facilitation skills, have a passion for payments, and have an ability to communicate complex information to both technical and non-technical audiences.
• The role will require leading complex solution discussions and will span multiple teams, projects, geographic locations, and time zones
• Visa is looking for self-starters that are thought leaders with a proven track-record of success in fast-paced payments technology environments with demanding timelines.
• This is a hybrid position. Hybrid employees can alternate time between both remote and office.
• Employees in hybrid roles are expected to work from the office 2-3 set days a week (determined by leadership/site), with a general guidepost of being in the office 50% or more of the time based on business needs.

Qualifications

• Hands on experience in API development and integration
• Experience in designing solutions in payment services industry.
• Experience implementing and enabling technology solutions with Neo banks/Digital bank is preferred
• Experience of working and in-depth understanding of e2e payment processing solutions across the payment life cycle is preferred
• Must have prior experience managing and delivering across multi-functional teams
• Excellent Presentation skills. Ability to communicate effectively at all levels
• Strong cultural awareness and knowledge. Ability to work in a multi-cultural environment
• Ability to express complex solutions in a simple way to business team and in technical details to technology teams.
• Experience with project and stakeholder management

Job Description
This position reporting to Cluster Country Manager, West Africa will:

• Be responsible for expansion and acceleration of Visa’s business in designated markets and client portfolios.
• Promote and sell Visa products and services to designated clients and emerging markets.
• Build clear strategies to stimulate growth and grow share of Visa business within client portfolios
• Achieve P&L and portfolio targets
• Manage the account planning process and deliver accurate sales and revenue forecasts
• Drive new business and revenue growth opportunities  
• Be responsible for leading Visa’s engagement with a portfolio of key clients and markets
• Build a client and market strategy aligned to Visa West Africa market plan and the client’s strategic priorities
• Develop, implement and manage Visa’s strategies with the clients to profitably grow the business in Consumer, Commercial and Digital
• Deepen client engagement at the senior leadership level to drive new business opportunities and actively demonstrate Visa as the best partner for business growth
• Broaden Visa’s relationship with client stakeholders in functions beyond the Cards business
• Increase penetration of Visa products and solutions with the clients
• Understand the payment landscape of the West Africa Region and keep abreast of industry trends
• Support the Cluster Country Manager and Head of Sales to implement Country strategies and achieve business goals
• Work closely with internal stakeholders, including Products, Marketing, Government Relations, Risk, Operations, Finance, etc, to orchestrate the collective effort to optimize the effectiveness of Visa solutions to the clients

• Increased penetration of Visa products and solutions with the clients
• Increased Visa share with the client
• Increased level of engagement with client’s senior management resulting in higher NPS scores and preference for Visa
• Achieved P&L and portfolio growth targets
• Forecast accuracy including management of incentives
• Understanding of the industry trends
• Engagement with internal stakeholders

Qualification and Experience
Professional:

• Recognized Degree preferably in Business Management, Economics, Finance, MBA preferred
• Must have 8 - 12 years of proven sales or business development experience, with strong account management, project management and relationship management, business consultation experience from across the following vertical or functions: consumer banking, cards issuing, merchant acquiring

Skills & Knowledge:

• Payments / Digital / Corporate Sales experience preferred
• Knowledge of payments systems and card industry
• Digital mindset and adaptive leadership
• Strong account management and problem solving skills
• Strong interpersonal, communication and negotiation skills
• Strong presentation, account management and networking skills
• Demonstrated ability to work with large, cross-functional (e.g. product, sales, strategy, marketing) and cross-regional teams
• Deal negotiation, structuring, execution is an advantage
• Knowledge of the card and payments business
• Strategic thinking combined with good business acumen
• Positive and result orientated team player
• Self-starter with a commitment to learn and a sense of curiosity
• Ability to navigate and work in ambiguous situations
