Job Summary

• The Senior Design Engineer is responsible for developing, reviewing, and managing project-specific 2D and 3D design documents, ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and compliance with project requirements. 
• This role involves working with modern laser scanning technology, CAD tools, and piping design methodologies to support engineering and construction activities.

Responsibilities

• Work within a 2D / 3D model environment to produce project specific documents.
• Laser Scanning and measurement ability using modern laser scanning technology both onshore/offshore.
• Knowledge of Data processing, alignment & positioning, and conversion to various CAD formats.
• Conversant with Fabrication Assurance and Pipe Fit Assurance using 3D scanned data for one time fit.
• Piping design and isometric drawing production.
• Able to design new lines in existing areas with use of 3D model, scanning and measurement.
• Good knowledge and use of AutoCAD and other CAD tools.
• Preparation of Bulk, intermediate and final MTO
• Preparation, checking of Piping Layouts for Tanks, Pumps, Exchangers, Drums and Pipe Racks
• Preparation and checking of Equipment Layout for Process, Oil & Gas Plants
• Manage and coordinate all the design engineering tasks internally within a project.
• Generate drawings and other documents according to project requirements.
• Perform spooling of drawings, design review and offshore/site surveys as required.
• Develop piping material specifications
• Piping and Layout design development within allocated areas and systems on existing platform
• Support construction and field engineering for the closure of technical queries.
• Knowledge and practical use of drawing and drafting standards.

Required Skills and Knowledge

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Civil, or Structural Engineering (or related field).
• Minimum of 7 years of experience in piping and layout design within the oil & gas or construction industry.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, E3D, PDMS, Aveva 3ED and other CAD software.
• Experience in laser scanning technology, data processing, and integration into CAD tools.
• Strong knowledge of piping systems, material selection, and equipment layouts.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Design of piping layout and equipment skids as well as development of detailed 3D models using Aveva E3D.
• Preparation of piping general arrangement drawings, equipment general arrangement drawings.
• Development of piping isometrics and pipe support drawings.
• Extraction and development of Material Take off (MTO) from Aveva E3D
• Develop 3D modelling on the converted point-cloud using Aveva E3D.
• Use of AutoCAD for drafting and modification of the extracted pipe isometrics, Equipment GAD & Equipment Layout.
• Interface with instrumentation, electrical and structural designers while incorporating details for other disciplines in the facility 3D model.
