    Deputy Bursar

    Job Summary

    • The Deputy Bursar will support the Bursar in the effective management of the University’s financial resources.
    • The role involves overseeing financial operations, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards, and contributing to strategic financial planning and sustainability of the institution.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Assist the Bursar in the overall administration of the University’s financial system.
    • Prepare and monitor budgets, financial reports, and forecasts.
    • Ensure compliance with financial regulations, policies, and statutory requirements.
    • Supervise accounting functions including revenue management, payroll, and expenditure control.
    • Support the preparation of annual financial statements and audit processes.
    • Implement internal controls to safeguard the University’s assets.
    • Provide financial advice to Management to support decision-making.
    • Coordinate with departments on budget implementation and financial matters.
    • Oversee financial record-keeping and ensure accuracy and integrity of data.

    Requirements

    • A minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related field (Master’s Degree will be an added advantage).
    • Professional certification such as ICAN, ACCA, or equivalent is mandatory.
    • 5–10 years of relevant experience, preferably within a university or similar institution.
    • Strong knowledge of financial management, accounting standards, and public sector financial regulations.
    • Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office applications.
    • Demonstrated leadership, analytical, and problem-solving skills.

    Senior Physical Planning Manager

    Role Overview

    • Prime University is seeking a competent and experienced Senior Physical Planning Manager to oversee the planning, development, and maintenance of the University’s physical infrastructure.
    • This role requires someone who can take ownership, make decisions, and ensure standards are not compromised.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Plan, coordinate, and supervise all physical development projects within the University
    • Oversee maintenance of buildings, facilities, and infrastructure
    • Ensure compliance with safety, regulatory, and environmental standards

    Professional Guidance and Counselling

    Role Overview

    • This role is not for someone who just “listens to students.” You are expected to actively shape student behaviour, decision-making, and long-term direction.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Provide individual and group counselling to students on academic, personal, and career-related issues
    • Identify students at risk (academically, emotionally, socially) and intervene early
    • Develop and implement guidance programmes that improve student performance and well-being
    • Support students with career planning, CV development, and decision-making
    • Collaborate with academic staff to address behavioural and performance challenges
    • Maintain accurate, confidential student counselling records
    • Organise workshops on mental health, study habits, emotional intelligence, and life skills
    • Refer complex cases to external professionals where necessary

    Requirements

    • Bachelor’s degree in Guidance and Counselling, Psychology, or a related field (Master’s degree is a strong advantage)
    • Minimum of 5 years relevant experience (school or university setting preferred)
    • Strong emotional intelligence, not theory, real-world application.
    • Ability to handle confidential and sensitive situations professionally
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
    • Evidence of practical impact (not just certificates) in previous roles.
