Responsibilities

• Ensure that the financial transactions of the Company are accurately captured, classified and posted with relevant approvals and coding instructions.
• Oversees the Preparation of budgets and strategic plans.
• Provide monthly Management Accounts.
• Ensure timely completion of Statutory Accounts.
• Perform regular reviews of the ledgers and other books of entries and ensure relevant reconciliations.
• Ensure confidentiality and safe keeping of accounting records and documents.
• Adhere to financial and accounting control procedures of the Company.
• Carry out monthly Tax Returns (PAYE, VAT, Withholding Tax etc.).
• Any other duties as instructed by the Managing Director.

Education and Requirements

• A Bachelor's Degree or Higher National Diploma in Accounting or related disciplines.
• Proficiency in stock ordering, stock take and stock valuation procedures.
• Proficiency in job costing methods and valuation.
• Proven knowledge of profitability analysis, preparation and interpretation of financial information.
• Female preferred for gender balance.
• Knowledge of applicable tax laws, codes and regulations in the industry.
• Working knowledge and experience of an accounting software / ERP.
• Good Management and Financial Reporting skills.

• Develop financial strategies, forecasts and budgets to ensure the company’s financial health.
• Oversee the preparation and monitoring of budgets, ensuring spending aligns with the financial goals.
• Prepare financial statements, reports and summaries for management, stakeholders and regulatory bodies.
• Monitor and manage cashflow, ensuring sufficient liquidity for operational needs.
• Identify financial risks and implement mitigation strategies.

Education and Experience

• A Bachelor Degree or Higher National Diploma in Accounting or a related discipline from a reputable educational institution
• Must be a Chartered Accountant – ACA, ACCA, etc.
• Proven experience in similar position is required
• Proven competence in bookkeeping, accounting and financial analysis
• Excellent verbal and written communications skills
• Strong interpersonal skills to lead and motivate a diverse team
• Strong problem-solving abilities to address challenges and emergencies
• Outstanding organizational and time management skills
• Must think independently to make decisions under pressure.
