About the Role
- The AI Video Editor will be responsible for producing high-performing video advertising creatives at scale using AI video-generation tools, editing software, existing footage, voiceovers, avatars and other approved creative resources.
- This is not simply a traditional video-editing position.
- The successful candidate must understand how video content works within a direct-response advertising environment and be able to transform scripts and creative concepts into engaging advertisements that capture attention, communicate an offer clearly, generate qualified leads and contribute to profitable advertising performance.
Key Responsibilities
- Produce AI-generated video advertisements from scripts and creative briefs provided by the Brand & Creative team.
- Generate realistic and engaging AI presenters, scenes, voiceovers, product visuals and supporting footage where appropriate.
- Edit doctor-led, UGC-style, testimonial-style, educational and direct-response advertisements.
- Combine AI-generated footage with real footage, stock footage, screenshots, graphics, text overlays and other creative assets.
- Create multiple variations of successful advertisements by changing hooks, openings, pacing, visuals, voiceovers, CTAs and other elements.
- Add subtitles, captions, transitions, sound effects, music and other visual elements where appropriate.
- Format and export creatives correctly for platforms including Meta, TikTok, Instagram, Snapchat, YouTube and other advertising platforms.
- Maintain organised project files and properly label final exports.
- Complete revisions promptly following feedback from the Head of Brand & Creative.
- Continuously improve the quality, realism and effectiveness of AI-generated content.
- Work closely with the Head of Brand & Creative, Creative Strategists and Media Buyers.
- Study advertising performance and apply insights from winning creatives to future productions.
Performance Evaluation
Performance will be evaluated based on:
- Creative Output: Ability to consistently produce the required volume of usable advertisements.
- Quality: Visual quality, realism, editing, audio, captions and overall execution.
- Advertising Performance: Contribution of the editor's creatives to successful advertising campaigns.
- Speed: Ability to deliver work and revisions within agreed timelines.
- Creative Judgement: Ability to turn briefs and scripts into compelling visual executions.
- Iteration: Ability to learn from winning and losing creatives.
- Reliability: Attendance, responsiveness, communication and meeting deadlines.
- Ownership: Ability to identify problems and solve them without requiring constant supervision.
- Performance will not be evaluated purely by the number of videos produced. The objective is useful advertising output that contributes to Dokitami's commercial goals.
Requirements
We are looking for a candidate who:
- Has strong video editing skills and a good understanding of visual storytelling.
- Has experience using AI-powered video or creative production tools.
- Can create engaging advertising content from scripts and creative briefs.
- Understands or is willing to learn direct-response advertising.
- Has strong attention to detail.
- Can produce multiple creative variations efficiently.
- Has good creative judgement and can contribute ideas beyond the basic brief.
- Is comfortable working with AI-generated presenters, voices, scenes and visuals.
- Can work independently in a fully remote environment.
- Is responsive, reliable and able to meet deadlines.
- Is willing to continuously learn new AI tools and production techniques.
- Can receive feedback and implement revisions quickly.
- Has a portfolio or showreel demonstrating relevant video-editing and/or advertising work.
Direct-Response Advertising
The successful candidate is expected to develop a working understanding of direct-response advertising.
Every advertisement should be built around the following general structure:
- Hook → Problem/Desire → Message → Solution/Offer → Proof/Reason to Believe → CTA
- The editor should understand how creative decisions such as the first three seconds, pacing, visual changes, captions, pattern interrupts, voice delivery and CTA presentation can influence advertising performance.
- The objective is not simply to create visually attractive videos, but to create videos that effectively communicate, engage the audience and support campaign performance.
Creative Briefs & Production:
Editors will ordinarily receive a script, concept or creative brief. Before beginning production, the editor should understand:
- Target audience
- Advertising angle
- Hook
- Core message
- Product or programme
- Desired visual style
- CTA
- Platform.
Required variations:
- The successful candidate is expected to exercise good creative judgement rather than mechanically assembling a script.
- Where a concept can be significantly strengthened through a different visual execution, the editor should communicate the recommendation to the Creative Strategist or Head of Brand & Creative.
AI Tools & Continuous Learning:
- AI video technology changes rapidly.
- The successful candidate will be expected to continuously research and learn new AI tools and production methods.
Depending on the creative requirement, Dokitami may use AI tools for:
- AI avatars
- Image generation
- Video generation
- Voice generation
- Lip syncing
- Motion
- AI editing
- Upscaling
- Background replacement
- Product visualisation
- Character consistency
- Editors should not become dependent on a single tool. The expectation is to identify and use the best available method for achieving the required creative result.
Creative Volume & Variations:
- Dokitami's Brand & Creative department is being built to support a target of approximately 100 advertising creatives per week across the department.
- The AI Video Editor will contribute substantially to this output. Individual production expectations may vary depending on creative complexity, campaigns, staffing and advertising requirements.
- A major part of performance creative is intelligently creating variations of concepts that are already working.
Variations may include:
- Different hooks
- Different AI actors
- Different opening scenes
- Different voices
- Different pacing
- Alternative B-roll
- Different headlines
- Different CTAs
- Shorter or longer versions
- Alternative visual styles
- The objective is to provide the media-buying team with enough creative diversity to test and scale campaigns while reducing creative fatigue.
- Volume must not come at the expense of quality.
Performance Feedback & Iteration:
- The AI Video Editor will work closely with the Brand & Creative and Media Buying teams.
- Advertising performance should influence future creative production.
- Every Friday, the media-buying team will identify top-performing advertisements so the creative team can study what is working and apply those learnings to new advertisements.
Our creative process follows:
- Research → Strategy → Concept → Script → Production → Launch → Data → Analysis → Iteration → Scale
- The successful candidate should be comfortable learning from both winning and underperforming creatives.
Quality Standards
- Every video must be reviewed carefully before submission.
- The editor should check for:
- AI generation errors
- Unnatural faces, hands or movement
- Poor lip syncing
- Robotic or unnatural voiceovers
- Incorrect subtitles
- Spelling and grammatical errors
- Incorrect product information
- Poor audio
- Awkward cuts
- Inconsistent characters
- Incorrect branding
- Unsupported claims
- Incorrect pricing
- Missing CTA
- Wrong aspect ratio or export settings
- Obvious AI errors should never knowingly be submitted as finished work.
Medical & Advertising Accuracy:
- Dokitami operates in the health and wellness industry, making accuracy particularly important.
- The AI Video Editor must not independently invent medical claims, product claims, statistics, testimonials or treatment outcomes.
- Only approved scripts, claims and product information should be used.
- If anything in a script or creative brief appears questionable, unclear or inconsistent with approved information, the editor is expected to escalate the issue rather than independently correcting or improvising medical information.
Brand Standards
- All creatives must follow Dokitami's approved brand and advertising guidelines.
- Editors are expected to maintain consistency in:
- Typography
- Visual presentation
- Logos
- Colours
- General production quality
- However, performance advertising does not always need to look like polished corporate content. UGC-style, native-looking and intentionally less-polished advertisements may be required where supported by the creative strategy.
Communication & Responsiveness:
- This is a fully remote position, and strong communication is essential.
- Slack is the primary internal communication platform.
- Employees are expected to remain reachable during working hours.
- Work-related communications should generally be responded to within five minutes, except where the employee is actively engaged in work that reasonably prevents an immediate response.
- Employees who expect to be unavailable must notify the appropriate HR representative or Head of Operations through an approved communication method.
- Employees are required to maintain the designated Slack and attendance processes.
- Employees must maintain an alternative means of contacting HR and the Head of Operations.
File & Asset Management:
- All source files and project assets produced for Dokitami must be properly organised and accessible to Dokitami.
- The successful candidate must follow the Company's naming, storage and folder structure.
- Company assets must not exist solely on a personal device or personal cloud account.
- Passwords and access credentials for Company-paid AI platforms must not be shared with unauthorised persons.
Confidentiality & Intellectual Property:
- All scripts, creative concepts, prompts, AI workflows, generated footage, raw footage, edited videos, project files, advertising data, product information and other materials created or accessed during employment are confidential Company information where applicable.
- Work created as part of the employee's responsibilities for Dokitami is Company work product and, to the extent permitted by applicable law, belongs to Dokitami.
- Employees may not sell, redistribute, reuse or provide Dokitami's unpublished creative materials, scripts, footage, advertising concepts, internal prompts or other proprietary assets to third parties without written authorisation.
