    Shift Supervisor – Ammonia Plant Operations

    Job Summary

    • We are seeking an experienced Shift Supervisor to oversee the safe and efficient operation of an ammonia plant during assigned shifts.
    • The successful candidate will lead operations personnel, ensure compliance with HSE standards, and drive the achievement of production targets.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Supervise and coordinate all shift operations.
    • Lead and coordinate field operators and DCS panel operators.
    • Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to ensure optimal plant performance.
    • Enforce compliance with HSE policies, procedures, and safe work practices.
    • Conduct daily toolbox meetings and shift briefings.
    • Prepare and submit accurate shift reports and operational logs.
    • Coordinate maintenance activities to minimize downtime and ensure plant reliability.

    Requirements

    • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or a related discipline.
    • 10 - 15 years of experience in ammonia plant operations.
    • Proven leadership and team management experience.
    • Sound knowledge of Permit-to-Work (PTW) systems.
    • Strong understanding of emergency response procedures.
    • Excellent communication, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.

    Mechanical Foreman

    Summary

    • The Mechanical Foreman is responsible for supervising and coordinating mechanical maintenance activities within the pellet plant to ensure reliable operation of all mechanical equipment.
    • The role involves planning, assigning, and overseeing maintenance tasks to minimize downtime and enhance equipment performance, while ensuring safety and adherence to maintenance standards.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Supervise day-to-day mechanical maintenance activities within the ammonia plant, including inspections, repairs, overhauls, and preventive maintenance.
    • Allocate work to mechanical technicians and fitters based on skills, priorities, and plant requirements.
    • Ensure the reliable operation and maintenance of rotating and static equipment, including pumps, compressors, turbines, heat exchangers, pressure vessels, valves, fans, and associated mechanical systems.
    • Monitor equipment performance and coordinate timely troubleshooting and corrective maintenance to minimize downtime.
    • Ensure all maintenance activities are carried out in compliance with Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) policies, procedures, and industry standards.
    • Coordinate with Operations, Electrical, and Instrumentation teams to plan and execute preventive, corrective, and breakdown maintenance activities.
    • Prepare maintenance reports, maintain accurate records of completed work, and update maintenance documentation.
    • Assist in spare parts planning, material requisition, and inventory control to ensure equipment availability.
    • Provide technical guidance, coaching, and on-the-job training to mechanical technicians and junior personnel.
    • Participate in root cause analysis, reliability improvement initiatives, and continuous improvement programs to enhance equipment performance.
    • Support plant shutdowns, turnarounds, overhauls, and emergency maintenance activities, ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently, and within schedule.

    Qualifications and Skills

    • Diploma or Trade Certificate in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
    • 8 - 10 years of relevant experience in mechanical maintenance, with at least 3 years in a supervisory or foreman role in a pellet plant or similar heavy process industry.
    • Solid knowledge of mechanical systems, rotating equipment, hydraulics, and pneumatics.
    • Familiarity with maintenance planning tools and computerized maintenance systems (e.g., SAP, Maximo).
    • Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
    • Ability to interpret mechanical drawings and technical manuals.
    • Proven commitment to safety and quality.
