Job Purpose

• Oversee the installation, testing, repair and calibration of instrumentation and control equipment to ensure smooth functioning of plant operations.

Responsibilities

• Ensure that all process control instruments monitoring temperature, pressure level, flow, weight etc. are installed, maintained, and repaired within their specified limits and periodically calibrated to guarantee hitch free operations.
• Modify and repair controls on Machines/Equipment to improve efficiency and save cost.
• Arrange on-the-Job trainings for subordinates in accordance with training and manpower plans.
• Keep abreast of spares stock, initiate, purchase of same as soon as agreed re-order point is attained.
• Keep record of instrumentation equipment that has bearing on the quality of our products.
• Ensure compliance with relevant Quality Management Systems (QMS), Occupational Health and Safety Assessment Series (OHSAS), Environmental Management Systems (EMS) and any other relevant management systems.

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor's Degree or Higher National Diploma (HND) in Electrical / Electronics Engineering, Instrumentation and Control or any other related fields
• 4 - 6 years experience in a similar role
• Expert on electronic machine operations
• Circuit and drawing readings
• Ability to critically analyze electronic and instrumentation faults and proffer solutions
• Use of Microsoft offices - Excel, Words and PowerPoint
• Good communication skills - oral and written.

To identify potential hazard points and ensure effective corrective actions are taken promptly, ensuring that all employees are provided with safety wares and enforce the use of PPE applicable to their job.

Responsibilities

• Develop, recommend, and implement policy on safety protection; develop accident prevention and control systems and programs and ensure implementations.
• Ensure prompt and adequate reporting of accidents, near-misses, identification of unsafe acts and conditions with a view to addressing them and communicating the reports to the concerned people.
• Interprets and evaluates factory compliance with applicable safety codes.
• Review construction plans for new and existing factory structures to ensure compliance with fire, and safety codes.  
• Monitor safety inspection programs, evaluate program maintenance and determine priority of current hazard correction.
• Monitors current safety standards, analyzes trends to identify areas for improvement, and recommends action to reduce/avoid risk and financial loss.
• Maintain relationship with regulatory agency representatives to remain current on changing standards and interpretations and to serve as contact person for the company.
• Develop and implement safety educational programs or activities to improve awareness of safety and protection procedures.
• Ensure required licenses or registrations are maintained as required by applicable legislation.
• Compile budget estimates and information for special projects.

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor's degree or Higher National Diploma (HND) in Environmental Management and Protection or related fields  
• 7 -10 years in relevant field
• Member of globally recognized Professional Associations (ISPON) is an added advantage
• Good understanding of applicable local and international HSE laws and regulations
• Ability to make decisions in a fast-paced changing environment
• Knowledge of ISO management system
• Ability to use Microsoft office packages - Excel, Word, Power Point
