    Finance and Administrative Officer

    Overview of Job Description

    • BA Ports Services is a company registered under the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, providing a Professional Protective Agency service in the Nigerian maritime industry.
    • The Finance & Administration Officer will provide administrative and financial support to the company and all its projects. He/she is responsible for performing the day-to-day functions relating to office, accounting, banking, procurement, and financial management to ensure the success of the company.

    Job Responsibilities

    • Responsible for the planning, organization, and management of the finance and administrative process of the company and its operations.
    • Responsible for personnel management and project planning activities as administrator and established financial management activities as the finance officer.
    • Provide financial management support: Billing, Accounts Receivables, Accounts Payables, Cost Accounting, Inventory Accounting and Revenue Recognition.
    • Responsible for payrolls and processing of statutory obligations/documents of the company.
    • Keep an updated and workable filing and documentation system for the company.
    • Ensure smooth husbandry services of clients’ vessels in close coordination with the operations superintendent and the company executives.
    • Responsible for maintaining internal controls to ensure the integrity of the organization's financial management.
    • Responsible for receiving and responding to client enquiries/queries, correspondence, and administrative duties.
    • Ensure timely completion of financial and other administrative audits.
    • Ensure that project expenditures are adequately tracked according to the agreed project budget in close coordination with the Operation Superintendents.
    • Schedule tax payments strictly on time.
    • Monitor and report on accounting discrepancies.

    Job Requirements
    Must have at least, 80% of below skills:

    • A University Degree or Higher National Diploma in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting or Economics.
    • Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in a similar role with working experience in the maritime industry especially in Ship Agency.
    • Good organization, time management and scheduling skills.
    • Hands-on experience with accounting software, like QuickBooks
    • Advanced knowledge of MS Excel (creating spreadsheets and charts and using financial Excel functions).
    • Good understanding of bookkeeping and filing procedures.
    • Strong communication skills (written and verbal) and Computer skills.

    Operations Superintendent

    Overview of Job Description

    • BA Ports Services is a company registered under the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, providing a Professional Protective Agency service in the Nigerian maritime industry.
    • The Operations Superintendent is to ensure the successful execution of the company’s vision by providing an issue free husbandry service to its clients’ vessels
    • He/she is the central point of contact for all clients’ vessels arriving in Nigerian waters. The Vessel Boarding Officer is to ensure the successful execution of the company’s vision by providing an issue free husbandry service to its clients’ vessels.
    • In this position, you will be primarily responsible for all aspects and needs of sea-going vessels while in port during loading/discharging operations

    Job Responsibilities

    • Responsible for the coordination of the entire protective agency and husbandry operations of the company including clients, vessels, personnel, regulatory/government bodies, subcontractors, equipment, logistics amongst others.
    • Responsible for overseeing and coordinating all activities of the clients’ vessels while in port, including boarding and husbanding vessels.
    • Provide operational management, leadership support and team building aimed at professional service delivery to clients.
    • Responsible for preparing vessel pre-arrival, arrival and departure plan, project monitoring and control plan and other project management processes.
    • Deal with all Authorities, clients, vendors, third-party, ships and crew on all operational matters.

    Job Requirements
    Must have at least, 80% of below skills:

    • Bachelor's Degree / HND in either Maritime, Oil & Gas, Offshore & Logistics Sector.
    • Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in a similar role with working experience in the maritime industry especially in Ship Agency.
    • Good project and time management.
    • Must have evidence of registration in relevant professional bodies.
    • Fluency in English. Excellent oral and written communication skills
    • Leadership and management skills are essential in Operations Management as such a candidate must be able to demonstrate previous experience in managing people, including performance assessment.
    • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills is essential and will be required to analyze operational data to help improve efficiencies and to also predict operational problems.
    • Must be familiar is current computer programs used within the industry.
