    Mechanical Engineer

    Job Summary

    • To ensure the safe, efficient, and reliable operation of mechanical systems and equipment within the mining plant through effective design, maintenance, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Plan, supervise, and execute preventive and corrective maintenance of mining plant equipment such as crushers, conveyors, mills, screens, pumps, compressors, and gearboxes
    • Diagnose mechanical faults and lead root-cause analysis to minimize downtime
    • The Maintenance Assistant is responsible for ensuring the smooth operation, repair, and maintenance of mechanical equipment, vehicles, pumps, valves, and instruments in a hazardous chemical and explosive manufacturing environment. The role requires knowledge of confined space maintenance, adherence to safety protocols, and expertise in troubleshooting and repairing complex systems.

    Equipment Maintenance
    Maintain and troubleshoot equipment such as:

    • Oxidizing Blend Reactor, Fuel Blend Reactor, Jet Mixer.
    • Screw Compressor (60 CFM), Air Dryer, Air Lubricator and Controller.
    • 1 TPH Electric Boiler, Water Softener, 2000 LPH RO Water Unit, and Condensate Recovery System.
    • Gear Boxes, Shear Beam Load Cells, Hydraulic Drive Motors, and Hydraulic Systems.
    • Danfoss/Casappa Fixed Displacement Gear Pumps and Danfoss Orbital Motors with EMD Speed Sensors.
    • Proportional Control Valve Banks with PVE 7 Electro-Hydraulic Actuators.
    • Olaer LDC Oil Cooler with Double Fan, Thermostat, and Stone.

    Vehicle Maintenance:

    • Oversee the maintenance and repair of:
      • SINOTRUK HOWO Cargo 6x6, Forklifts, Jig Cranes, LMVs, Trucks, and MMUs (Mobile Manufacturing Units).

    Pump Maintenance:

    • Maintain and operate various pumps, including:
      • Centrifugal Pumps, Magnetic Centrifugal Pumps, Helical Screw Pumps, Gear Pumps.
      • Helical Screw Pumps with Hydraulic Motor Drives (Make – Roto Pumps Ltd.).

    Valve Maintenance:

    • Repair, service, and calibrate valves, including:
      • Wafer Ball Valves (Manual), 3-way Ball Valves with Actuators, and Disc Check Valves.
      • Gear-Operated Butterfly Valves, Piston Valves (Socket Weld), and Actuated Piston ON-OFF Valves.
      • Ball Float Steam Traps.

    Instrument Maintenance:

    • Calibrate and maintain instruments such as:
      • Mass Flow Meters, Magnetic Flow Meters, Oval Gear Flow Meters.
      • pH Indicators and Monitors, Pressure and Temperature Transmitters, and Wells.

    Safety and Confined Space:

    • Conduct maintenance in confined spaces adhering to strict safety protocols.
    • Monitor equipment safety and ensure compliance with hazardous chemical and explosive industry standards.

    Qualifications & Experience

    • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline
    • 3–8 years of experience in a mining plant, mineral processing plant, or heavy industrial environment
    • Strong knowledge of rotating and static equipment used in mining operations
    • Experience with preventive maintenance systems and CMMS
    • Knowledge of welding, fabrication, hydraulics, and pneumatics is an advantage

    Required:

    • Hands-on maintenance experience in hazardous chemical or explosive industries.
    • Expertise in load cell maintenance and confined space operations.

    Preferred:

    • Experience with PLC systems integrated with HMI.
    • Ensure equipment reliability and availability in line with production targets
    • Supervise mechanical technicians and contractors during maintenance and shutdown activities
    • Develop and implement maintenance schedules, procedures, and spare parts plans
    • Support installation, commissioning, and testing of new mechanical equipment and plant upgrades
    • Ensure compliance with HSE standards, statutory regulations, and company safety policies
    • Monitor equipment performance and recommend improvements for efficiency and cost reduction
    • Prepare technical reports, maintenance records, and engineering documentation
    • Coordinate with electrical, instrumentation, and operations teams for smooth plant operations.

    Electrical & Instrumentation Engineer

    Job Description

    • The Electrical & Instrumentation Engineer is responsible for the operation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and optimization of electrical and instrumentation systems in a bulk emulsion explosive plant.
    • The role includes overseeing the installation, testing, and maintenance of equipment and control systems to ensure smooth production processes and compliance with safety and regulatory standards.

    Key Responsibilities
    Electrical Systems Maintenance & Operation:

    • Maintain and troubleshoot electrical equipment, including 2MVA transformers, ICOG panels, PDB panels, APFC panels, and other panels up to 200A MCCB.
    • Oversee the maintenance of illumination systems with various LED lighting solutions.
    • Manage and ensure the reliable operation of 11KV power lines and ensure compliance with relevant licensing and regulatory standards.
    • Maintain electric motors up to 25 KW and electric boiler with capacities of 640 KW.

    Instrumentation & Control Systems:

    • Monitor and maintain PLC and HMI systems, including logic reading, interpretation, and software uploading/upgrading.
    • Troubleshoot and repair SCADA systems to ensure process monitoring and control accuracy.
    • Calibrate, maintain, and troubleshoot sensors, including pressure and temperature sensors, and associated transmitters.
    • Perform regular maintenance of actuated valves and other critical control devices.

    Process Optimization:

    • Analyze system performance and implement corrective measures to enhance efficiency and reliability.
    • Identify areas for automation or process improvements and collaborate with engineering teams to execute upgrades.

    Documentation & Compliance:

    • Maintain detailed records of maintenance activities, system updates, and spare part inventory.
    • Ensure compliance with safety regulations, plant standards, and industry codes.
    • Develop and update standard operating procedures (SOPs) for electrical and instrumentation systems.

    Team Support & Collaboration:

    • Provide technical guidance and training to electricians and other staff on best practices and troubleshooting methods.
    • Collaborate with production and maintenance teams to minimize downtime and ensure efficient plant operations.

    Qualifications & Experience
    Educational Background:

    • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical or Instrumentation Engineering or a related discipline.
    • Certifications in PLC programming, SCADA systems, or industrial automation are advantageous.

    Experience:

    • 5–8 years of experience in electrical and instrumentation roles, preferably in a bulk emulsion explosive or similar hazardous process industry.
    • Hands-on experience with equipment like 2MVA transformer, PLC systems, electric boiler, and 11KV line maintenance.

    Technical Skills:

    • Proficiency in PLC programming, AutoCAD, SCADA systems, and HMI logic interpretation.
    • Strong understanding of maintenance procedures for transformers, MCCBs, electric motors, and sensor systems.
    • Familiarity with automation systems, sensor calibration, and actuated valve maintenance.
